Shocked to see no Funes Mori/Rayados post in here.

We took it to it's own thread so you don't get your butt hurt. Glad you're paying attention to a GOAT league though, and hopefully taking notes

chicago being linked with monterrey attacking midfielder Rodolfo Pizzaro, a 25yo cam with 25 caps for EL TRI

everyone seems to think it's a big deal if it happens, and would require 10-20m

He's like the 6th best player on Monterrey

so good enough for chicago fire then huh

unrelated, but sounding like mls might scrap tam etc and simplify some cap stuff in the next cba on account of all parties hating it
wonder if it might cause dumb teams to bury themselves in unmovable contracts, but oh well
at least they'll save money on accountants...

Fire really going all out trying to attract a big name Mexican. They wanted JJ Macias too. Good for them at least trying to making a splash with the big move to Chicago and rebrand (new logo looks like trash tho). They should be one of the big guns in MLS.

lol no. iirc, his specialty these days are face-ricochet goals...or at least when he was in the premier league.

he's no zlatan, we'll just say that.

Yeah I’m glad they’re signing him. Will make the derby more fun and no way they’re anywhere near us as it stands.

Face-ricochet goals you say? So Zardes 2.0 then.

Actually, I think he'll take a legit run at Vela's record if he stays healthy. He's all about positioning and getting cheap goals, which should be quite easy against the porous defenses in MLS. Plus he'll be getting elite service.

El tráficos are guaranteed to be 5-3 scorelines now although I think adding Chicharito might diminish it a bit as the Mexicans will be all buddy-buddy with each other and doesn't seem like there will be anyone spitting fire to the press.

Vela and JDS are already close friends too.

Zero chance Chicharito makes a run at the goals record though imo, but can’t say I’ve been watching him a ton lately.

Grant Wahl @GrantWahl

Chicharito to LA Galaxy: €8.5 million ($9.4 million) transfer, 3 years guaranteed, around $6 million annual guaranteed salary, lots of incentives. Guaranteed salary at Vela’s level, but incentives will almost certainly make him MLS’s highest-paid player.

probably won't get full value, but if he stays healthy and bags some goals i guess they'll be happy enough

He's basically a more talented Bradley Wright-Phillips at this point and BWP had no problems scoring tons of goals. I'll go ahead and say he scores 20+ next season provided he plays 25 matches or more. Would be willing to bet on it for a fun sweat if anyone wants the under.

I'll take the over on Chicharito goals as well

Chris Wondolowski scores a bunch of goals in MLS and Gyassi Zardes is an all-star.

I mean 20 is reasonable enough, but that’s a long ways away from the record. Wondo scored 15 last year, Gyasi scored 13.

based only on seeing nyrb & vwfc, these training camp rosters suck bc some teams still have to sign like 10 more players, or nah?

newly re-signed michael bradley only now just having surgery on his knee or whatever, out 4 months lolol

Matt Doyle set the line for Chicha at 23.5 (and then said he’d smash the over lol). I’ll take under 24.5, meaning he’ll be 10+ goals below the record, if anyone wants it.

Atlanta seems to have gotten rid of all the good non-dp players and added no one to replace them

The MLS CBA is trash. Draft a guy like Gressel who outperforms his contract and you can't even give him a couple 100K a year boost. That is such peanuts for a pro athlete in the US.

But you can give a worse player 10m because he's bald, a former national team captain and his father looks like a thumb.
