Cruz Azul are using their entire first choice squad in Leagues Cup against LAG's B or C team (LAG played 3 matches last week and are saving the starters for el tráfico this weekend).
Line's a bit steep at Cruz Azul -160, but seems like a match they should win very easily.
Bit surprising. Not sure what more you can expect from the garbage the team was with Piatti being out basically the whole year. Just having them in the playoff hunt is impressive in its own right.
OTOH, it was a really boring style of football and he wasn't even using some of the more talented players b/c they didn't fit his stupid system or whatever. I saw a stat that Omar Browne was about the most successful dribbler in the entire league this year, but Garde wouldn't even use him and already ran him off, back to Panamá.
Anyway, the new coach, Wilmer Cabrera, actually has a few pieces to work with now: Lassi, Bojan, Ballou, Piette, etc. (hopefully Piatti soon), and the schedule is favorable with a bunch of home matches to finish out the campaign.
Note to new coach: If your goalie has given up 12 goals over the past 3 matches, maybe look at a different option.
Basically confirming Beasley and Zlatan correct about the loser mentality of just making the playoffs and changes MLS needs to make (that some of us have been saying for years). Also Rooney bitching about non-chartered flights and long travel days
Columbus have an absolute **** lineup. They've completely given up and only care about beating Cincy this weekend.
SJE +625 looking juicy even though it's at LAFC. LAFC will have an eye towards el tráfico this weekend and maybe rest a couple guys as a result whereas SJE can put all their eggs in this basket.
