is this the year MLS finally can claim equal footing?

Seattle and Toronto both have the weekend off before their trips to Mexico next week, so that's a nice advantage to have. New York hosts Portland before the 2nd leg. Of course, all Liga MX teams have games this weekend too.

I'd still say only getting 1 team thru is more likely than 2. True o/u is maybe something like 1.3 teams advancing I think.

I read that MLS had only won 12 of the last 74 before this week, so 3 for 3 is quite a feat.

Well in the 2 years prior, MLS teams only managed 1 win (and 4 draws) from 6 home matches vs. Liga MX.

NYRB won by 2 at Tijuana and in the 2 years prior every visiting MLS team lost by 2+ goals in the 6 matches on Mexican soil.

So it's a pretty massive improvement.

*those should be the start times in EDT, though you shouldn't trust concacaf to get the daylight savings time change right.

Semis first two weeks of April, finals last two weeks of April.

Yes, it's 4 consecutive weeks. The schedule probably benefits an MLS team if they can make the finals b/c they should be fresh and rounding into form and often times MLS will shift matches for them. LigaMX will be in the last 2 weeks before the playoffs which could potentially be key matches for them.
