Well I quite like this USOC betting, so I'll continue with the nightcap. Chance to go 4-0 if Houston can hang on to win (up 3-1) and Chicago don't concede to L'ville (up 2-0).
LAFC with a very strong lineup, I'm pretty surprised they're rolling out Vela for USOC after he just finished the World Cup, so looks like they're taking this very seriously. Portland lineup is kind of a joke. LAFC are big favorites so I'm on -0.75 -115.
Houston win 4-2 and Chicago won easily 4-0 and had about another 8 really good chances. L'ville didn't seriously threaten once. Really can't believe the line wasn't more like -2.5 -110.
Now let us LAF, hopefully at Portland's performance.
How mf'n good is Vela? So fun to watch. LAF up 2-0 even with UrAIDSña. I think I hate that guy even more than Olivier Giroud, and that's really saying something. Every attack breaks down once he touches it. Luckily Portland decided not to field an attacking player who can, you know, attack.
Feels like there are more goals in the late game. Dio probably getting unleashed soon.
Oh yah, definitely.
LAFC literally had 2 defenders run into each other leaving Asprilla wide open for 2 point blank shots and he couldn't put away either. They are a bit lol at the back at times. Hopefully LAF unleash Dio and get an insurance goal before Portland are tempted to unleash Valeri.
not that this is saying much, but vela is def one of the better finishers in mls. that curl kick he does to the upper corner of the goal is a thing of beauty.
Dio was so good in ~20 minutes. Had a goal that was way onsides wrongly disallowed then killed off about 4 minutes at the end of the game b/c Portland couldn't win the ball off him and then started jawing with him.
LAF looked so shaky with Nguyen playing a more defensive role, he was terrible, but shored things up with Feilhaber. Can't believe this team is adding Horta on top of an already stacked roster. ATL v. LAFC is the final we deserve.
sounding like Alphonso Davies to Bayern Munich for an MLS-record* fee of $12MM + a 20% sell-on clause
(* - until Atlanta starts flipping some of these guys they have)
Dortmund also supposedly made a bid, not sure who else
also they might then loan him back to VWFC for the rest of this season, seeing as how he can't play over yet, and probably needs to sort out permits etc
would be cool to get more games out of him, see him play in the ASG, and then give him a good send-off at the end of the year
but i guess we shall see on the details once everything is confirmed in the coming days
It's over. Impact already the hottest team in MLS (it's true), and now this? They had a grand total of 4 goals and 1 assist from their 2 strikers (aka very little) and Briand is a great fit for the club.
