90 second stretch, 4X woodwork:
Martinez penalty off the post
Bingham saves onto the bar
Gressel blast off the bar
Rebounds immediately to Steres who can only direct it onto the post.
finally bundled home.

I love seeing guys who stutter miss OK

ATL look so good tonight. No idea why LAG thinks it's a good idea to press them so far up the field. Really want to see ATL in CCL next year

Yeah. His pre-actual-kick routine: stare off into space long after ref blows whistle... then sidle around to approach the ball. then suck.

Darwin's so good. Sucks he's wasted on Minnesota where he can disappear for nearly a half when they're getting dominated.

I wonder how ATL crowds will be for home games in CCL if they qualify. Will people get that fired up over playing international competition compared to MLS?

pretty certain it could be 70K+ if they open the upper level

I dont know. I sense that a lot of atl fans aren't really that into international competition or foreign leagues. They might actually view a Concacaf champs league game as peripheral or lesser than MLS regular season. Plus, it would be on a Tues, Weds, or Thurs night. I could see those games getting less attendance than usual. I'm sure the supporters section is a different story, but in the regular seats there are plenty of people who know next to nothing about soccer.

Would be cool if they had the CCL games back at Bobby Dodd. Please?

I wonder also what attendance for ATL UTD will be like 5 years from now, once the hype has died down a bit and they've become more of a regular thing to Atlanta.

didn't think about the weeknight thing. but I assume whatever the regular 45K is would still happen.

5 years from now depends on if they ship it like they should or if they are just another atlanta team who chokes

Not sure why but it seems like Montreal has been the only team's fanbase that was more excited about CCL. Their average crowd is like 18k but they were doing 30k, 35k, and then a sellout (60k) against Pachuca, Alajuelense, and América.

There was actually a bit of a buzz in the city. They really marketed the hell out of it, created websites explaining the history of the competition and teams, etc. Really wish more clubs would take to the competition and build it into something special.

With MLS finally having some talented teams like ATL and Toronto, the rivalry between the 2 leagues could become pretty intense.

was it mexicans that showed up to watch the games?

I could see that being insane in Atlanta, now that I think of it. There will probably be more Chivas/America/etc fans there than I anticipated. Now if we are playing some random team from another central or Caribbean country...

I was at the final vs. América and there were some but it couldn't have been more than 5-10k. There aren't that many Mexicans in Montreal, in fact I think there are more Colombians than Mexicans. Alajuelense probably didn't have that many supporters either.

Cota, Pereira, Salcido, Alanis, Hernandez, Perez, Pineda, Pizarro, Brizuela, Cisneros, Pulido

Bono, Auro, Van Der Wiel, Hasler, Morgan, Bradley, Delgado, Osorio, Victor Vazquez, Giovinco, Altidore

Vazquez returns, but no Moor or Mavinga?
