pretty good finishes this half, but conceding too easily. feels like 2017.

So ATL is probably already the best team in the league and they don't even have the probable best player in the league playing yet.

IMFC actually added 2 solid signings today, but tough to compete with that firepower.

I know LOL Wondo and all, but he scored 2nite...he moved into 2nd alltime in MLS goals and only need 10 more goals to overtake LandonGOAT for all time MLS goals.

too bad he has never been able to transfer that efficiency to the USMNT.

Ugh, really hoping he doesn't break the record. Having Wondo be your league's all-time leading scorer isn't a great look.

Maybe León will sign him so they can have MLS's top 2 scorers at the same time.

josef martinez could stay and break that in like 3 more seasons

Yah, hoping he stays healthy to see if he can break the single season record.

That's the problem though, the guys scoring tons of goals these days likely aren't gonna be MLS lifers like the previous generation. That career record will stand awhile.

getting barco should be fun. was nice to see carlton get a real run tonight, had a perfect cross for josefs third.

almiron makes some great plays but will never be effective in a bigger league until he can use his right foot and stops making so many long dribbles to nowhere. villalba was awful and might be the one losing his spot instead of gressel.

LOL MLS

He's gotta be up there for most games played by an outfield player too no? Him being MLS all time leading scorer is actually perfect

International football is such a huge step up from lol MLS. It's why Wondo "efficiency" never translated. It's also why Michael Bradley can't stand on a ball for as long as he wants like he always does for TFC.

Almiron fun to watch though. Atl is really the highlight of MLS for me. Fun attacking football (at least at home) with some of the league's best players. Great point on Almiron though. Good players develop some terrible habits in this league because they can get away with it

Saw the replay of that Vancouver red card vs Atlanta. Ref should be suspended.

Yeah that was the dumbest thing I've seen in a while

Turned the game off after the PK went in

Didn't watch. Isn't there VAR in MLS this year?
MLS Season Thread 2018 Quote

yes, the call was made via VAR

even though it only went to VAR bc some idiot was laying on the ground for like 10 minutes
so they started showing the replay on the big screen in-house (they aren't supposed to do that)
and then the crowd started booing and the ATL coach got riled
so the 4th official tells the idiot to look at it
dude looks at the replay for like 5 minutes
of the play he was 5 yards away from looking right at live
and finally spots his "clear & obvious" mistake
PK+red 10 minutes in gg

saw replays of it for 5 minutes and i still couldn't say for sure that there was contact with the face
let alone that the contact warranted any decision from the ref
looked like a play on really
certainly not a "clear & obvious" mistake

whatever, MLS gonna MLS

VAR was announced for Russia a few days ago. Some of the refs there will have never used the technology.

Juventus confirmed as all-star game opponent.

August 1 in Atlanta

International Champions Cup dates and locations should also be finalized in the next few weeks.

independent panel agrees with me and unanimously rescinds the red card, in case anyone was worried that i was being a massive homer in that account above

but sadly they can't erase that this stupid mistake ruined what could have been a game 10 minutes in

anyway, good to see that the league is taking the issue of their awful reffing seriously

except this, which i was unaware of, is kinda dum:

Quote:
Each club is entitled to two unsuccessful appeals per season, including playoffs.
why is there a limit to appeals?
actually, they should automatically review every red card as a matter of principle

Utterly baffling how bad SKC is at defense this year . I don’t understand how you can keep the same dominant back line as last year and become horrible overnight. At least it’s not boring
