Stop me if you've heard this one before: goal in the last minute of stoppage time to make it 6-1.

I admit I have a hard on for how Atlanta built their team but lets keep in mind Minnesota could be historically awful ..... an expansion team with a bunch of spare parts and a British manager - TFC tried that 10 years ago and it was awful.

This is my first time attempting to actually watch a mls game. Are Portland and la two top five squads?

We don't know, it changes a lot year to year.

I don't know, they beat NYRB 1.13-0.68 on xG in their first match ever and just slaughtered Minnesota. The East is weak and 6 of 11 make the playoffs. I think they're at least favorites to make it.

I think Atlanta is making it.

Their front 4 is ridiculous, they have a bunch of MLS foot soldiers, plus they have a great coach.

No idea what their depth is like though.

I'm actually kind of worried they're going to cut us up when we play them in a month

The Galaxy has historically been an upper echelon MLS team, but the 11 the had on the pitch yesterday was very atypical, then without Van Damme, they are nothing like the teams the would field 5 years ago.

Of course I'm biased, but I think the Timbers are a top 4 team in the West, maybe top 6 in all of the MLS this year, but that remains to be seen.

I've definitely adopted them as my MLS Live team.

Valeri is really really good. Legitimate best player in the league candidate. Plus Nagbe, Blanco, and Adi are all really really fun to watch. Again, ex-EPL defender in Ridgewell and their fullbacks are solid and look like they like to get forward. Add into that best kits in the league, and great rivalry with lol Seattle and they're a fun team.

note: TSN has picked up the game in Canada, so i imagine they'll also have the return leg, and the Vancouver v Dallas final

Liga MX being so SHOOK by MLS that they had to engineer a "referee strike" so that their teams could have maximum rest for these games is a pretty lol look

Packed with star players like Andre-Pierre Gignac, Jurgen Damm, Ismael Sosa and Eduardo Vargas and led by wily veteran manager Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti, the Monterrey-based powerhouse has achieved a great deal lately, starting with the 2015 and 2016 Liga MX Apertura titles as well as runners-up finishes in last year’s CCL and the 2015 Copa Libertadores.
well Gignac is the only one i've heard of, so this should be easy

Quote:
Projected starting XI (4-4-1-1): Nahuel Guzman — Luis Advincula, Hugo Ayala, Juninho, Jorge Torres Nilo — Damian Alvarez, Jesus Duenas, Guido Pizarro, Jurgen Damm — Eduardo Vargas — Andre-Pierre Gignac

Notes: Tuca Ferretti’s methodical, possession-heavy approach can also be executed via a 4-2-3-1 shape, but with the home fans at “El Volcan” (“The Volcano”) likely to provide noisy support as their team nears yet another trophy, he may be less conservative on Tuesday … Javier Aquino is nearing a return from a hamstring problem and could see minutes in this series … Andre-Pierre Gignac has been arguably Liga MX’s brightest star over the past year and will be the chief danger for Vancouver.
Quote:
Projected starting XI (4-2-3-1): David Ousted — Jake Nerwinski, Kendall Waston, Tim Parker, Jordan Harvey — Matias Laba, Andrew Jacobson — Alphonso Davies, Kekuta Manneh, Brek Shea — Fredy Montero

Notes: Robinson started two markedly different lineups over the first two weeks of MLS play, with many of his usual regulars rested at San Jose with an eye towards the Tigres trip … Teenage phenom Alphonso Davies sat out the weekend match and seems likely to start on Tuesday despite his tender age … Vancouver fielded new acquisition Brek Shea in an unorthodox lone striker role in their CCL quarterfinal second-leg win over the New York Red Bulls; showcase frontrunner Fredy Montero has yet to start for the Whitecaps but may be given that opportunity against Tigres.

Of course you hate to lose him for 2 months, but as far as injuries go, this isn't that bad. A hammy is way better injury than a knee, and IIRC, Axal is still young so he should recover fast. With the way MLS seasons last so long, he could be rested and back to form when the games are important.

I think part of what makes the Colorado defense so good is the large pitch at altitude. The opposing teams don't want to get gassed, so they never end up pressing hard.

lol of course MLS has no chance. Tigres and Pachuca are easily our two best teams and i just can't see them getting eliminated here in the semis. Tigres should win this because their squad is ridiccccccc, but i'm hoping they find a way and get eliminated from this and start focusing on the league. i got them to win liga mx at 12/1!!

I was reading somewhere that this Tigres team is the best Mexican club team ever .... I'm guessing that's based on the collection of talent and not based on trophies or undefeated streaks though right?
