it's especially weird considering the Reyna injury, given that Barnes was one of the more natural replacements at the 10, and backing up Montero at the 9. they're very light in both those positions, but have loads of wingers. will either be moving people around all year, or they aren't done dealing.

or maybe they try Shea in those spots. think he played further forward earlier in his career with Dallas.

Barnes was also not good, and this at least saves them ~$150k TAM

Might be doing a MLS fantasy league this year. I'm sure I'll lose interest by Week 2. But I can have some fun with forwards and most MF, but who are some of the better defensive players and teams?

Also, anywhere that lists every teams penalty takers?

Does anyone post top goalscorer betting odds? I'd imagine Matteo Mancosu has super long odds, but I give him a reasonable shot at 20+ if he stays healthy the whole season.

looking over the last 3 seasons, i'd say:

NYRB - have been consistently solid
Dallas - ditto, just an all-around good team
Colorado - were elite last year under Mastroeni
LAG - always strong, could be better this year without Gerrard loafing around
KC - always solid
San Jose - surprisingly stout? possibly a stylistic thing bc they can't score
Seattle - always solid, anchored by Alonso & Marshall
Vancouver - were great in '14 & '15, but sucked last year for some reason
DCU - consistently a solid 2nd tier team

TFC were good last year, but not sure i totally buy it

players? i dunno, pick the CBs & DMs from some of those teams i guess

ya game could have very easily been like 4-2. hoping that the team can stay relatively healthy and we get some games with the Montero/Manneh/Bolanos/Shea/Davies attacking group intact. should be fun.

Semis should be fun Dallas v. Pachuca and Vancouver v. Tigres, hopefully MLS can get a team through to the Finals.

Tigres front 3 is scary, Gignac, Damm, and Vargas. Is cruizn even still around? If so, I'm sure he'll be around soon to tell us how little chance MLS has.

lots of excitement in Atlanta. It will be interesting to see how it goes this season in regard to attendance, and interest in the team/MLS vs the sport overall.

I used to pony up for it back in the day but haven't for a few years.

Does anyone know if footytube puts up these global highlights shows / preview shows weekly?

MLS has needed the equivalent weekly highlights show that every Euro league has badly .... 1 hour a week and you can keep up with every team.

will be playing in front of 50,000+
NYRB just played in Vancouver yesterday, so now have to fly back across the continent again
played a pretty strong lineup afaik and had a few guys get knicked up

got MLS live going. Does anyone know if blackouts are based on your IP address or based on your billing address?

Would be sweet if I could completely cut my cable during the summer .... all TFC games are on TV here so they'd be blacked out ..... if based on IP I can improvise
