CCL Quarterfinals are back starting tomorrow, here's the schedule (these are mountain times I think):

I think Liga MX will crush again. Not b/c I don't think MLS has been making progress, but more b/c I believe the 2 teams closest, LAFC and ATL, are severely weakened. ATL have Josef and their whole backline out, LAFC are dealing with some injuries and have played 9 guys for 4 straight matches and are coming off a brutally fast-paced match.

Once we got to this stage last year, Santos beat NYRB 6-2, Tigres 3-0 over Houston, Rayados 3-1 over ATL, and Rayados 10-2 over KC in the semis. Hopefully it won't be quite that bad, but we'll see.

As for IMFC, the only MLS team who gets a non-Mexican opponent, I think circumstances are well in their favor for tomorrow.

Olimpia just played a match on Sat. night before having to fly to Montreal and somehow get acclimated to the **** weather and **** turf in Stade Olympique, all while only having 2 days rest. So I see the Impact jumping out to a 2 or 3 goal lead tomorrow night, then hanging on for dear life to just barely advance.

People have already realized Cruz Azul +308 was insanity and that's been bet down to +268, but I still really like that one a lot as well as the over 3. Will also take the Impact at -120 and the over in America/ATL.

That’s a fair point about the 9 for the most part. The midfield has actually been rotated pretty well minutes-wise (except for Blessing—poor Latif), but the back line (except for LB) and front three are definitely in the middle of a serious grind.

That said, at the end of the Philly game, the oldest outfield player on the pitch was Vela (turned 31 last week). The second oldest was Tristan Blackmon (23yo). This team is crazy young, so maybe that helps.

Yah, it's a great point about the youth. Hopefully we see another epic tie like vs. León.

I saw that Cruz Azul was putting all tickets for LAFC on sale for 80 pesos ($4) after their recent match vs. Tijuana and there were huge lines to buy them.

Mexicans don't have much disposable income so even being able to buy them for $4 instead of $15 makes a massive difference in attendance, especially for mid-week matches.

So I think there will be a pretty big crowd in Azteca, should be a lot of fun.

My experience in Peru is the majority of the people who waited in line to buy those $4 tickets planned to sell them to Fossil and people with jobs who couldnt wait in line during the week for more than $15

Could be, but Azteca is massive and I don't think this match will sell out so I'll probably be able to get $4 tickets when they go on sale to the public (or at worst $15).

I remember last year when América had a training session that they opened to the public for free and 45k people showed up. Then they had a match that weekend and 20k people showed up. I think to some degree there are tons of passionate fans who can't afford to pay much, but you're probably right that there are also lots of people hoping to snatch them up and make $10-15.

Wow, Victor Wanyama is starting for the Impact. Seems questionable on the turf of Stade Olympique, which I think is even harder than the other turf fields, but you gotta pull out all the stops for the Champions League.

Horible defending and 0 going forward. Bad combo.

Olimpia have a backup keeper in there and Impact can't even get a shot off.

Gonna have to put Orji or Ballou on for one of your 5 defenders.

Golazo by América.

Looking like LAFC is the last hope for getting any result in leg 1.

And a 2nd within 2 minutes.

We should just wipe out results from the matches this week and start fresh when/if we resume again. The Impact obviously had several players infected with coronavirus.

At least the GOAT competition still going. The Libertadores.

~80th minute double red card and the game has been stopped for about 10 minutes with brawls. The appear to calm it down then a new brawl between Gremio and Internacional players just kicks off again. Amazing.

Looks like most leagues in Latin América are still a go. Colombia, Paraguay, and Peru are the only ones postponed AFAICT.

Liga MX appears to be playing with full crowds. 2 matches tonight, albeit **** ones.

If you're looking to get your soccer fix, I'd recommend León/Pumas and Chivas/Rayados tomorrow night, and the big match is América/Cruz Azul on Sunday. El clásico joven, both teams are from CDMX (and sharing the same stadium even) and close to the top of the table.
