Super League is here...CONCACAF SUPER LEAGUE

Reviews seemed to be mixed among MLS diehards and more negative among Liga MX fans.

I'm all for international type **** (as long as it has some meaning, unlike Leagues Cup), so let's do it.

MLS season is a joke anyway, with a million teams, regular season mostly meaningless, variance fest playoffs with too many teams involved, etc. So I don't really care if it gets blown up. Liga MX system isn't anything special either.

Until MLS gets an 18 or 20 team top tier, playing everyone home and away, with pro/rel, I don't really care that much about it. I just hate the idea of playoffs in soccer.

Now as far as this Super League I'm a bit confused. Is it in addition to CCL and that weird made up cup where liga mx and MLoLS play each other?

I saw the ticker on ESPN game apparently having games in those competitions happening simultaneously in the same night at the same time a week or so ago. I was confused

Leagues Cup is the weird made up cup

This "Super League" is the new format for Leagues Cup. So this Super League version of Leagues Cup will be played in addition to CCL. Supposedly, MLS is also playing US Open Cup and Canada Cup too (I think Liga MX will just get rid of their Copa MX, which was dying anyway).

So that's gonna be a hell of a lot of schedule congestion for MLS. They desperately need to increase the cap to allow teams to fill out the rosters better.

Only 1 club in the final 8 and they got worked by Mineiro.

Too bad Barcelona had to screw up Fla-Flu and an all-Brazilian semis.

This Atletico team seems like they've been working everybody lately. My brother in law is a massive Palmeiras fan and when I told him I hoped for Atletico over River he went off on how loaded this Atletico team is. Quick look at the roster and turns out he was right lol

I know it's 2 legs so could be boring 0-0 type stuff but I'm having a decent bite of Atletico +200. That price is too good and stadium are still empty in Brazil

Empty stadiums kinda kills it for me. Esp. considering most of the rest of the world is at full capacity, or at least 50%+. And I think crowd atmospheres are an even bigger part of Libertadores than your average competition.

Libertadores quickly goes from GOAT to WOAT without fans. I admit I've not watched any this year. Usually I love even the random qualifying stages

Pretty wild finish in LFC's favorite competition Copa LeaguesCuptadores. Seattle down 3-1 with 4 minutes stoppage and got 1 goal in the 93rd, then almost tied on the last kick of the match but Ruidiaz put it just wide.

AT BEST, they're 5th in Canada behind MTL, TFC, Cavalry, and Pacific. Would probably get worked by a bunch of other CPL teams as well.
