If this goes on around here, I was definitely going to contact you about taking part as a witness and ball shagger.

This needs to happen!

What percent do you think he takes out? Taking 500+ homerun cuts in an hour would gas a big leaguer.

Thats a really cool offer from the D'backs.

I played through college. Between games and practices, I'm sure I took tens of thousands of swings on a field. I have 0 career home runs, including when I played in Little League.

I'd be at a 0% shot

(0 home runs, but hit the yellow atleast 10 times lol)

Literally more depressing than Moonlight Graham's story.

Little league fences are 200 feet right? And no stipulations have been specified as to what kind of bat is to be used. So this is laughably easy for anybody good at hitting fungo fly balls. An adult man doesn't even have to swing hard to hit a ball 250 feet with a metal bat. Even with a regulation wood bat, a reasonably athletic person that regularly hits fungos would find this laughably easy.

I don't see any reason you'd be hitting less than 80% out. I'm almost certain I'd clear 90% Maybe I'll go see if I can make some sort of sample video for reference right now....

He can use a -9 moon bat. I still think he gets gassed and there is zero chance over 30% of his CONTACTS(getting a good pitcher or pitching machine setup is hard) go out.

You have to hit a pitch, not toss it yourself. Obv pitcher is on your side. Metal bat.

You really don't have to swing hard.

Tell me about it.

Assuming decent size and in shape, I'm team yes for the 150 prop. I played with a kid when I was 12 (on 200 foot fences) who was essentially a grown man who hit something like 37HR in 31 games that spring. He ended up getting intentionally walked all 5 AB of the first game of the state tournament, and after the game he made me throw him BP and told me to not stop throwing. I had about 200 balls, and he hit probably 130 out. 150 on 200 fences with a -9 seems doable.

I'm rooting for him to go over 150, but will bet against it.

I think the last time this was brought up the most exercise you've done in a while was helping someone move.

I'll take the other side if you are using live pitching. No shot. I don't think Bonds could do it.

Lol. You dont think a guy could loft the ball 2.5 times per minute? We're not taking Thome hacks.

EC name the price let's have a live HR Derby. High school field, we find a local high school pitcher to pitch. Can use up to a -5 bat.

On a little league field?

Come on now. He could probably do this on an MLB field.

So I didn't realize the bet needed a pitcher. If you have a good BP pitcher or machine I still think it's not very hard.

I actually did go out and shoot some videos hitting a bunch of balls. I weigh 135 lbs and was swinging a 34/34 bat that is obviously way too big for me, hitting muddy old tennis balls in near freezing temperature with no batting gloves. But it was fun.

A high school pitcher, or any other pitcher, can't throw 500 tosses in an hour. Pitching machines aren't nearly as consistent as you guys seem to think.
