Brewers 4-1

One time!

Also, if I'm the dodgers, if it gets to the point where on the final day of the season that if the rockies win they tie the brewers and/or cardinals, I'm 100% throwing that game
I'd be on board but I don't feel like watching the cubs drop 3 to the cards. I just can't. My hatred for Stl is to much

Dante Bichette 1999.

133 RBI's, -2.3 WAR.

A high offense environment, coors field, and terrible defense.

Also, Joe Carter in 1990, 115 RBI's and -1.8 WAR

I'm not sure how you can name somebody who disappeared for 6 weeks mvp. Having a handful of huge games that pad your stats and a bunch of dud games, is not as valuable as being consistently awesome for your team throughout the season. Altuve will win by a decent margin.

Wow at Bichette. Not just 133 RBIs, but an .895 OPS!

Dude is a .299 career hitter with obv big production and has 5.5 career WAR.

He was a slightly above average hitter that played in Coors/Mile high during a huge hitters/steroid era and was probably one of the steroid guys himself...so it's not really that surprising.

His kid, who was drafted recently, looks too much like him. Creepily so.

While he's obviously trolling, deriding the achievements of Judge this season is pretty hilarious. Likely to finish with >1.000 OPS, ~7.5 fWAR.....

Sounds like a joke that he could be considered for MVP (note he's exactly tied with Altuve in fWAR at this moment)....

Checking out the NL WAR race for the first time this year (fangraphs style):

Kris Bryant closing in on Rendon, within .2 of the lead (6.7 vs 6.5). With as much as I felt like I read Bryant was having a down year (to start), I didn't expect that.

Justin Turner and Tommy Pham are within .2 WAR apiece of Goldshmidt, with over 100 PA less. That's shocking to me, especially since Pham started in AAA (lol Matt Adams)

Joey Votto might be the most underappreciated player from a national stand point. I know many people in this thread have given him props, but hes sitting at 6.5 WAR as well. He's just so good.

I'm not trolling at all. Alive should definitely win and I'd vote Trout over Judge.

Bryant was never really having a down year except I guess sort of in April, but his OPS has been above .900 most of the year. He's down a little in HRs & a lot in lolRBIs, so of course he won't repeat as MVP, but his slash line is not much different from last year. The defensive side of his WAR has strangely dropped a ton from last year, which I don't know if I really buy based on the eye test, but who knows.

Exactly. Altuve should be a landslide victor over everybody.

Despite adding the exact same amount of wins to his team's total as Judge (per fangraphs)?

Fwiw I think that Altuve should and will win, but jfc homer much?

Bwar has altuve ahead and I really do think there is something missing that doesn't account for having a multi hr game 1 night, then punching out 3 times the next.

Fair enough tbh. I'm sure around MVP time Effectively Wild will talk about it at length

He's had a quite year because of his slow* year RBI wise I think. He was not good with RISP before the break but it's improved since the then. He hasn't put up any flashy numbers,. Quietly good comes off as a down year to some for a guy like Bryant

the rockies have their final 6 games at home and may only have to win 3 of them. i don't see them not getting that 2nd wild card spot.

on a related note, if the cardinals lose another f**king series to the cubs, I hope they do the right thing and perform the ritual of seppuku. they won't deserve to live.
