Totally agree but don't see how... they've talked about making changes to the bases so they're more like the bags of old, but I don't think they've done anything yet.

So many teams with the one step forward one step back routine, including your defending champion Chicago Cubs. 88 wins takes either Central division, lol.

Barrelled this one. To be fair to txdome, he was pretty reasonable.

Can't help but notice you didn't address my points, but yeah, name calling is far more effective. You ****ing troll.
I already won the bet, actually.

And seriously? You call me a troll when the last line of your post is "What a stupid convo" and "AGame gonna AGame?" Oh the sweet ironing.

But I'll address your points anyway:

A) I guess that's true? It really depends on where you can get the player though. If you told me that Heimlich was a first round prospect who fell to Round 8 because people were worried about his criminal past, that would make sense to me. But at that point, the chances of him making it far surpass anyone else you can draft--let alone in Round 15, or 22, or 40.

B) You're assuming you know what kind of person he is NOW. He did a terrible thing, but he was a young teenager. Maybe he's not that same person any more. There's no evidence he has been any kind of detriment or in trouble with the law in the 6 years since this plea, and his coach speaks quite highly of him.

Again, I have mixed feelings and understand a team just not wanting to deal with the backlash. To say it's a useless conversation is definitely wrong though. It would be right if he as a fringe 35th rd prospect. He isn't. And he very well may come back and pitch again next year and take centerstage again. He's very very good.

Did anyone have him as a first rounder? Admittedly I don't know much about college baseball at all but everything I've seen elsewhere is he was at best in the second and more around 3rd to 5th round.

As for the rest of the post - coaches have to speak highly about all their players, as seen in NFL when almost all teams have **** ups.

If he crushes again next season I do think it's likely someone takes a flyer on him, then they do the standard NFL speak of 'we've talked to him, his parents, his coaches, blablabla bull****'

In actual baseball talk, Tanaka has given up five runs and three homers but 10 Ks through 4

Congrats to Tanaka on only giving up three homeruns in four innings before leaving the game against the powerful Oakland athletics

Tanaka up to 21 homeruns. Who has more at the end of the season. Him or judge?

Arrieta supposedly attempting to pitch through an injury. Gives up yet another Homer in the first.

Really surprising he's pitching through an injury in a contract year
