As a cycling fan I'm familiar with the drug in question. It has no performance enhancing effects; it's used as a masking agent for PED cocktails. The most likely explanation is Cano has been juicing for years and misjudged his "glow" period.

Precisely. Take the financial repercussions of a positive test into account. It is highly unlikely an individual who was guilty of ignorantly ingesting a banned substance with no discernable performance enhancing effects would react in the manner Cano has.

If Cano was suffering from any of the ailments that Furosemide is used to treat, he should come out and say it. We're in an era when coming out as having erectile dysfunction doesn't bat an eye.

Furosemide (commonly used to mask PED use) is not by itself an automatic suspension. It is only a suspension after an MLB investigation that determines it was being used as a masking agent, which apparently they felt it was. It does not mean they could prove anything though.

I don’t think either of them are absolutely clear, though I was def surprised at the home call.

I was talking about all round including those. Freeman getting thrown out at home after attempting to steal second, Russell having an ‘RBI strikeout’ when the runner started the play on second, Darvish getting pulled after four and Monty somehow getting through his first inning scoreless (that was the fifth).

Just lots of bizarroworld stuff in one game.

Meanwhile, Kris Bryant is still a monster.

Roidy Cano was playing for weeks on appeal after he tested positive. Not that it's going to matter, but they should forfeit those games. 2021 CBA should give an option to void 10-year contracts to players dumb enough to get caught.

Scherzer should get in eventually.

I got to see the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks play an exhibition game vs the Winnipeg Goldeyes at a local college field last week. It was awesome.

Going to the Gary Southshore Railcats opening day on Friday night too.
