Trout gets in if he dies today. If he blows out his knee and decides to hang them up, I’m less sure.

My first thought was yes, but he's only played ~7 full seasons, and has been in the top 3 of CY Young voting 0 times. I understand he's very good and a massive fav to get in, specifically asking if he would get in this moment.

If not, who are the lock HOFers today? Obvs to me are Kershaw, Felix, Pujols, anyone else that's 100% in if their career ended? Trout? Posey? Votto?
Pretty much all of those are locks except maybe Votto and Felix...they are still on the path like...Harper...Cano...Stanton...are on the path as they should.be locks barring injury. Though i worry about Felix the most...he just might be legit done.

Ichiro, C.C. Beltre, Verlander, Miggy all should be locks too.

Hard no on Pedroia...because of Jeff Kent....and Cano eventually.

.
You're phrased this like this is even a question for Ichiro. He'll get in first ballot with at least 80% of the votes. Best Asian player of alltime will help. Also, HOF talk is stupid and should only be done in the offseason, when there aren't great storylines like Giancarlo, Bosox, reds, etc. happening.

I wouldn't be surprised if Yu goes down as the best pitcher asian of this generation. Ohtani is already coming up on his innings limit for the season.

JFC your wound tight...its phrased that way because BBWAA has been and will always be the WOAT...but I thought you knew that already...oh well.

Probably, although his counting stats suck. 3 rangz helps, but he’s been poo in the playoffs. 248/323/325.

Votto is exactly the kind of guy who is far better than he needs to be, but could get overlooked easily.

He's a 34 year old slugging first baseman. He only has 257 career home runs, and has only had 3 seasons with 100 rbi's, and only 2 seasons with 30 home runs. He's not known for defense and has never been a factor in the post season.

I actually think his chances are very slim, regardless of how good his .964 career OPS is.

Ditto for Felix Hernandez. Never pitched in the post season, only 162 wins at this point, could easily be a quick footnote.

See: Larry Walker, Kevin Brown, Brett Saberhagen, John Olerud, Dave Steib, Carlos Delgado.

Zero chance Felix gets in. If Votto plays out his contract which is another five years and age 39season he's getting in.

Astros have the three best SPs in the AL. No big deal, I'm sure Ohtani will carry the Angels to the promised land.

Why did the Cubs not sign Christian Villanueva in 2016?

Seems like mistakes were made.
