I understand he's very good and a massive fav to get in, specifically asking if he would get in this moment.

If not, who are the lock HOFers today? Obvs to me are Kershaw, Felix, Pujols, anyone else that's 100% in if their career ended? Trout? Votto?
lol no at Bumgarner. He probably isn't even on a HOF track.

You obviously forgot Ichiro, Beltre, and Cabrera as stone locks. Felix is probably borderline.

This guy didn't even make 3%, how the **** do you think Bumgarner is possibly a hall of famer RIGHT NOW? You clearly don't follow this stuff.

I really don't think of Felix as a HOFer. If he can be decent for 5 more years, perhaps. He just turned 33.

Cano will most certainly get there, but isn't there yet.

Verlander?

CC and Mauer? I guess not locks but id expect them to get in (along with basically every other name mentioned)

Me and a buddy were talking about this last week. One guy gets in the HOF, who ya got Mauer or Molina?

Mauer, but even that mother****er Yadi should get in too just because he is still catching.

Yadi. A stretch like that defensively at that position. Plus rangs.

obviously isnt really what the HOF is about, but dude has made the NLCS 50% of his career. gotta count for something

Haven't looked at his stats, but I'd have to assume verlander gets in. Would feel weird if he didn't, hes been so good for so long

As a Mariners die hard, I’m thinking Felix has fallen off the HOF track but he was certainly on it as late as 2015.

Locks:

Pujols
Miggy
Beltre
Ichiro
Kershaw

On Track:

Cano
Votto
Scherzer

Maybe:

Mauer
Verlander
Felix
Grienke

Just briefly glancing at the numbers, Felix compares pretty favorably to Verlander and Greinke. He was such a monster for a decade and just fell off a cliff. JV found a second wind that will probably get him to the Hall. I’m not sure if Felix has done enough and he sure seems like he’ll never have another elite year.

Votto seems short on counting numbers but his career OPS is higher than Miggy’s.

Excluding 30 and under obv.

David Schoenfield of ESPN.com had a great article on this very topic not long ago.

Cliffs... Locks right now:

Pujols
Beltre
Miggy
Ichiro
Kershaw
Cano

Yeah, I enjoyed that article.

He'll probably get about 20 of those right.

How many more seasons at -2 WAR would Pujols need to play to drop out of lock status?

Trout is already a lock.

Stanton is probably >50%. Despite his injuries he's only 28 with 270 HR and a 145 OPS+.

Harper is >75%. He's 25!!!

Obviously Trout is a near lock. Stanton isn't even in the conversation yet. Verlander is about 90% lock.

I'd put Altuve ahead of gian by a decent amount right now for chances of getting in hof.

Do you think Sabathia is >90%?

The point I'm making isn't about current HoF credentials. Someone like Bartolo Colon has more HoF credentials currently than mid-career guys like Stanton, but Stanton obv has way more HoF equity (because Colon is not a HoFer).

Sabathia probably should get in, but it seems like the voters haven't really adjusted their expectations for starting pitchers so who knows.

CC will get in. Homerun hitters are very prevalent nowadays Guam doesn't stand out that much.

Red Sox too good. Sell the team and random distribution of players for the good of the game.

Not only is Pedroia not a lock, he’s not even close.

Pedroia would need ~2800 hits to get in the conversation, which would require 6-7 more years of 150 games played.

Harper and Stanton are absolutely nothing if they die right now. Trout should've acheived lock status by now, but it doesn't really work that way.

Current locks are Pujols, Ichiro, Beltre, Cano, Kershaw, Cabrera. Probably Verlander.

I'm slightly doubtful on Cano at the moment, two more seasons and he is in. Trout would get the Koufax treatment for sure.

Sure but Harper is less than 25% to die this year. I think given what he’s done and what we should reasonably expect, 75% is fair.
