Can someone explain how the Mariners are 13 games over .500, but -54 in run differential. That's insane.

They get blown out a lot but have Edwin Diaz basically.

You might be the only person in the entire world who believes Houston is the best food city in the U.S.

I'd rather have good bbq and tacos than some fancy pretentious stuff served in NoVA or Nyc.

“It does seem as if Houston continues to be ranked as the most diverse large city, while Jersey City as the most diverse of the midsize cities,” sociologist and demographics expert Stephen Klineberg"

The basis for our claim that Houston is the most ethnically diverse is how close the population comes to one-fourth Asian, one-fourth Latino, one-fourth African American and one-fourth Anglo,” Klineberg says.

Diaz is part of the answer for sure, but Diaz or no Diaz, this is some crazy run good.

I think Fangraphs did an article on them recently and found that the 2018 Mariners have the highest difference between hitting in high leverage situations compared to low leverage (in blowouts).

Basically it's a fluke.

Rangers had a similar -40 run differential a couple years ago and won the West.

If you think that only fancy pretentious stuff is available in NYC or Chicago or New Orleans (or wherever), then you are doing it very wrong.

Also while Houston is the "most diverse", thinking that other places are not at all diverse and thus the cuisine suffers from it is lolz.

Good vietnamese food in Houston for sure.

See, that is a class act, give your 2 week notice. Don't be ego maniacs like Jeter, Rivera, Ortiz, and Chipper where you get a season long butt kissing tour.

I gained so much more respect for Tim Duncan the way he retired.

To see how not to do it, someone like Marshawn Lynch who did it during the ****ing super bowl to take the attention away from the game onto him, just to unretire shortly after. What an *******.

This is the first time the Red Sox have won 100 games since 1946. That's wild.
Many times, and love the US and everything about it (your posts in the fast food thread in OOT is an inspiration to us all). Been to quite a few stadiums as well but not AT&T or the Coliseum, so pretty excited

There’s no way to justify Goldschmidt winning mvp. Only way that (should) happen is if Cain and yelich split the vote a la the time lincecum won the cy with wainwright and carpenter chopping

1. Cain and Yelich have a better war in fewer games
2. Carpenter has more homers
3. Arizona isn’t a playoff team

It’s yelich

TIL the only 3 players with a 6+ WAR in the NL are pitchers

Also TIL Corbin has a higher war than Goldschmidt. Never believed I would have seen that

A player winning MVP from a non playoff team hasn't happened in forever.

.300/.403/.560
33 hr/32 2b/92 r

Shouldn't even be in the conversation! No way to justify it!

man the dbacks fell apart, sorry guys

since Carpenter also took the first 2 months of the season off, Goldschmidt should be in the conversation for sure

If you think Paul Goldschmidt is the NL’s best or most valuable player you’re either a homer or not paying attention

Stop. If they had a 4.5 game lead instead of being where they are, and his numbers were identical, he'd probably be the favorite.
