It would be interesting to see how he'd be evaluated as an MVP canditate if he were to have a year with something like 4 pitching WAR and 3 DH WAR. It seems his success is already increasing his DH appearances. If he continues to have success with the stick (and pitching) it would be interesting to see how much more DH games they might give him. I'd suspect he doesn't DH the day after he starts, but I don't see why he couldn't DH every game other than that. I also think in the AL it's worthwhile to use the DH on his pitching nights so he can just focus on being one thing each game, either a pitcher or a hitter, and not have to deal with being both. So that would give him 60% of games as a DH, or approximately 100 games.

Edit: I see they are using a 6 man rotation. I wonder how long before the 6 man rotation will simply be the norm. Seems like it must only be a matter of time...
seems like if he puts up results at both pitcher and DH he should be an MVP lock at some point. There's so much value with having an extra roster spot that he frees up, although that may be tough to quantify

But he sucked as a pitcher.
Ankiel, maybe? He never did it at the same time, but to make the majors as both a pitching phenom and then as a solid OFer is probably the closest equivalent

David Peralta tho. And he can actually hit.

Edit: now that I think about it, he may not have ever made the majors as a pitcher.

Umps have way too much job security. Send that guy back to the minors, imo.

Stop acting like a whiny ***** trying to show the ump up and you won't get tossed. It's pretty simple.

If he disagrees with a call and flips his glove to the ground in an attempt to silently tell the ump that call was BS, he deserves to get tossed. Again, it's pretty simple.

Chan Ho Park is the only one I recall.

I believe it was 2011, the Yankees hit 3 in one game. Martin, Granderson, and someone else. That's the record. Phils on pace to shatter it tonight.
