It would be interesting to see how he'd be evaluated as an MVP canditate if he were to have a year with something like 4 pitching WAR and 3 DH WAR. It seems his success is already increasing his DH appearances. If he continues to have success with the stick (and pitching) it would be interesting to see how much more DH games they might give him. I'd suspect he doesn't DH the day after he starts, but I don't see why he couldn't DH every game other than that. I also think in the AL it's worthwhile to use the DH on his pitching nights so he can just focus on being one thing each game, either a pitcher or a hitter, and not have to deal with being both. So that would give him 60% of games as a DH, or approximately 100 games.

Edit: I see they are using a 6 man rotation. I wonder how long before the 6 man rotation will simply be the norm. Seems like it must only be a matter of time...
Pretty sure he will never bat when pitching. You lose the DH if he comes out of the game. So, if he has a short outing the pitchers are hitting for the rest of the game.

Its not just the results of the first week. He has the ****ing tools that Owings did not.

449ft to opposite field tonight.

Also, article came out today that said he's pitching once every 7 days. Looks like hes their Sunday starter and will DH Tueday-Friday.

I actually like seeing him play. He's a big, strong, athletic, hombre. I don't like how he entered the league.

Shoot, I was booing watching on my phone, in a Seattle area casino, with an over bet on the As win total and no financial rooting interest in the Angels this year.

Should be game over
no the umps didn't botch that call, but they did earlier in the rundown with Stanton. Like they literally didn't know the rules. LOL.

Goatani making racists mad since actual baseball started in 2018.

Maybe he still needs a little minor league seasoning? Thoughts?

How do you have the two greatest players ever and have twice as many losses as the Dbacks, Pirates, and Mets.

Lefty power hitter who also runs well. Seems a natural fit to the 3 hole between Trout and Upton. But Halo fans will have to watch Pujols fart outs at cleanup all season unless Scioscia gets his head out of his ass.

Edit: is there a dedicated Angels thread somewhere?

Three, according to this thread.

From Jayson Stark(I may be getting this wrong):
Last year 62% of qualifying batters hit 20+HRs

I see that TEBOW hit a homer in his first double-A at-bat. Only a matter of time before he makes Cooperstown.

Lots of history being made in St Louis today.

-coldest home game in their history
-about 3 hours from now the Dbacks will have their best start in franchise history

Only coming away with one run there is unacceptable.

It's more than enough for Greinke, but still.

I did not think he'd get a legit shot to DH more that like 1 game a week. That is awesome if true
