So how do you guys decide exactly which completely obvious plunkings you get super duper mad about? Do you pick them at random or wait to see if other posters chime in first to make sure everyone shares the same opinion?

No one gave a **** when the Cubs drilled Souza somewhat recently. Even after Rizzo got to chirpping and basically admitted it was on purpose. Where were the white knights wanting a 40 game suspension?

Oh no, it's Acuna that got hit! Off with his head!

Hint: they’re all bad. When you do it because someone is better at baseball than you, rather than because they did something dirty first, it’s super bad

I agree with this. If the guy hits a HR and pimps around the bases sure hit him in the ass next time up. But hitting the guy because he's good is super lol. Pitching inside to get him off the plate is one thing, but hitting the guy in the first inning is really stupid.

Literally every deliberate plunking is bad and should be heavily punished. Don’t really understand how in 2018 Major League Baseball players are still ****ing puerile dickheads.

Nah pimping around the bases is fine too. Was talking more about getting your cleats up on a slide type of thing

I mean, if you really think the Cubs are stupid enough to deliberately put a guy on base in a close game in the late innings when they’re in a division race, more power to you.

And if they *are* that stupid, then they deserve the same intense ban as any other.

Also, even *if* you think that’s deliberate, surely even you can see there’s a difference between that because they thought he slid dangerously (he didn’t) and because someone has hit a few bombs off you the last few games?

I'd be more pissed about someone pimping around the bases than going cleats high into me AINEC

Major League Baseball, same people who determine vast majority of disciplinary issues.

I hope they’re smart and reasonable enough to do something. It’s professional sport not the playground. What if Acuna broke his elbow or something? Even the potential injuries are not the point. Grow the **** up.

It’s the worst part of baseball and it’s not close.

*edit*

No, the worst part is the fans booing the pitcher for throwing pickoff throws.

When the throw from the outfield takes the guy up the baseline, and he ends up on a knee 4 feet from the base as someone is sliding in, I'd hardly call that going in spikes up.

When Baez gets hurt from a Souza slide, then Souza takes one in the ribs/hip next time up as Rizzo is barking about how he needs to learn how to slide, you really think that's all a big coincidence? Come on man. You're better than that.

Triple play in Texas
Short hop to 3rd. Touch bag force. Tag out runner at 3rd. Throw to 2nd force.

If that counts then so does the wave.

Nothing wrong with a wave, especially when most of the crowd is involved. Why are so many of you too cool for harmless fun? I bet you don't yell CHARGE! when you're supposed to either, huh?

Also, come on Braves! We need W's this weekend.

You’ve never seen the wave going on in the 9th inning of a close game and everyone is paying attention to where it is instead of what’s going on on the field?

I do not abide.
MLB Regular Season 2018 Quote

Actually, no. I'm used to seeing it at some random point mid game. I agree the 9th inning of a close game would be a horrible time and I'd decline to participate.

Bro. I go nuts when the Mariners do something huge.

I’ve seen the wave become more important than the game way too many times - when the game is still close - to let the wave slide. I hate it.
