That being said **** the cubs. They are due for some negative variance after lucksacking the last 3 seasons. Can't recall a team running better with injuries the 2015-17 cubs teams.

Well, the Cubs managed to stay tied in first place for a day this year. Good effort.

So in three games so far Kapler (Phillies manager) pulled Nola, their opening day starter, after 5.1 with 68 pitches up 5-0 only to lose 8-5, then today made a pitching change in the third inning with nobody warming up, so the reliever comes in and throws warm up pitches on the mound and the Braves manager complains to the umpire that the pitching change clock is up but he gets tossed, then the Phillies had to use a position player to pitch in the eighth because they were losing 14-2. They've now used 21 pitchers in three games.

After the game he guaranteed they'd make the playoffs this year. Looking forward to further developments here

I haven't been a fan of the umps in this series.

In the first game, Dansby got called for a check-swing by the 3rd base ump (replay shows he didn't go, but anyway). Next inning the same ump calls a no swing on a check-swing by a Philly.

Snitker comes out of the first base dugout and is yelling at the home plate ump, and gets tossed by the 3rd base ump at least 120 feet away.

Then today, the Phillies don't warm anyone up in the pen and have a meeting on the mound, then make a pitching change. The Braves announcers were even saying that the rule is you have 2 mins 5 seconds for the commercial break to throw your 8 warm up pitches, but the meeting on the mound cuts in to that time. And Snitker is trying to tell them they can't get their warm ups in, and then he gets tossed.

If we're gonna have rules to improve pace of play, don't toss the manager for asking them to be enforced.

I have no idea how Alex Cora will be with his players. That is far more important than anything, obviously. But I have been really unimpressed with his in game decisions. I would have understood if in game 1, the eighth inning just kinda got away from him because it did happen pretty quickly, but his excuse for not going to kimbrel was ******ed. It sounded like he has no desire to use him in any situation except a 3 out save in the ninth.
