Some Chris Sale notes.

This season he has posted the highest WAR of his career.

According to Bref, #1 ALL TIME in K/9 and K/BB!

Appeared in 21 big league games with a sub 2 ERA the year he was drafted.

Tonight his average four seam velocity was the lowest of his career. First two came in at 86, topped out for the game at 93. I would like to see him healthy in the playoffs.

I’m not saying it’s the only metric worth considering, but Snell ranks 7th in the AL in fWAR.

Edit: make that 8th. Chris Sale wasn’t listed because he doesn’t “qualify.” However, he does lead AL in fWAR.

Also, Gerritt Cole and Corey Kluber are clearly in the conversation.

Gerritt Cole and Corky will probably be the best pitchers in the DS, CS, WS, depending on who wins the initial series, but I don't think they're going to get many 1st place votes.
