am I missing something here, or would you always choose to be team C over B? you're on the road but you're automatically in with a shot at winning the division. doesn't seem right

A manager that doesn't pick C should be fired immediately

Cancelled our flight to NYC and ate the $250.

Booked that on August 2nd when the Mariners had a decent lead over the A’s.

How unlikely is that the M’s would go 6-1 at Minute Maid after that date and miss the postseason?

Trevor Williams is quietly having a really good year for the bucs, so I looked him up and he's controllable through 2022. Nice.

When I first saw him with the Royals in 2014, I immediately declared that he had zero professional HRs. I was right. Now at the end of the 2018 season, he has one (id bet it didn't clear the outfield wall), to go with one total base in parts of 5 big league seasons.

I would wager he's hardly stepped on the field outside of September, maybe never.

They lost today, but A's just won that series going 0-21 w/RISP.

Yankees own the tiebreaker with the A's, so Oakland has to make up 2.5 games in the final 6/7 games in order to host the wild card.

Yanks (4 @ Tampa, 3 @ Boston)
A's (3 @ Seattle, 3 @ Anaheim)

Would have been great to win today because I think making up 1.5 games is doable, but 2.5 games is significantly harder.

Didi out for the year could be the difference, though.

Yanks have 95 wins, A's 94 wins. All that matters at this point, imo. The A's seem a lot like the Rays when they were good early 2010's. I think they can definitely bounce the Yankees and BoSox, but not win the WS.

Yeah choose C no matter what the situation. Sort of like automatically playing Defense first if you win the coin toss in college football overtime.

Would be infinitely more interesting if the loser of A-B got the wild card, and the winner of (A/B)-C got the division, and the loser got nothing.

Loss column tho...actually that's what matters at the moment...Yanks up by 2...and Yanks hold tiebreaker...and every single game next week is going to be a ****ing sweat... baseball.

I was just thinking how brutal it would have been, had the A's not taking a ridiculous leap forward, for the Mariners to miss the WCG after getting passed by the Rays.

Surprisingly it actually went over the wall. And it was against a team called the New Orleans Baby Cakes.
