At the Tribe game at Safeco. Cleveland fans are hanging Cs up whenever a Mariner strikes out. Never seen away fans do that before.

Anyone know off the top of their head if any other player in history has had a peak from 37-40 besides Bonds?

Thanks for the ideas, fun to look at.

Aaron looks like he peaked from '59-'63, which would be 25 to 29.

I'd probably call Clemens' '86-'92, just from a quick perusal of fWAR. He was 23-30 in that time. He definitely had a crazy end to his career (single best fWAR season was his 34/35 season), but his peak was certainly over before 37.

Mookie Betts is the new best name in MLB.

Randy is pretty close, 35-38, although his 40 year old season is pretty awesome as well.

So Napoli actually did call Tanaka an idiot after he hit a HR off him last night.

lol at Napoli for taking a jab at a guy that is about three times as valuable as he is.

Lol.. Do you want a cookie, or a gold star to sew on your backpack. Perhaps a fruit cup for your lunch box?

Fun stat that likely only interests me: The Padres are on pace to become only the third team to fail to score 500 runs in a non-shortened season since they lowered the mound in 1969. The other two...the '69 Padres and '71 Padres.

Gotta figure the Padres will rebound at least a little in the second half. Their offense has been historically bad and although it ain't a bunch of all stars down there, they shouldn't be THIS bad.

Shouldn't be that bad?

When you're 3 best players are Seth Smith, Everth Cabrera, and Chase Headley then yes... you should be that bad.

Also playing half their games in Petco just magnifies how bad they are.

At least they have some pretty sweet pitchers.

Some of those offers are just outrageous for Bud Norris. Overplayed their hand and missed out on some quality

I've actually lost all confidence in Jeff Luhnow and I now firmly believe he is completely clueless and incapable of being objective.

For example, his line of thinking on last years #1 pick Mark Appel in A+

Take a guess which minor league pitcher has 20 strikeouts and 6 walks in 22.1 innings so far this year...
LOL

Like really, how does this ****er get a job at McKinsey and then one to manage a Major League Baseball team. This is the reason people are armchair GM's.
