speaking of rapists, incredible that Josh Lueke is pitching in the majors instead of rotting in prison

5 rbis from swisher? that 10.25 option for next season is looking like a bargain right now. it's amazing to have a player of this caliber until control for so cheap, better than the longoria contract

if he lets a save go to a non-closer, ozzie guillen will retire on the spot

Situation: Reds up 1-0 v. Braves. Guy on 3rd, 1 out. Miguel Cairo at bat. Baker inexplicably called for a squeeze bunt with a 2-2 count on Cairo, who fouled the pitch off for a strikeout.

“I thought the first pitch was a ball,” he said. “It was a situation where I didn’t trust the scoreboard. I thought the count was 3-1. That was my fault.”

JFC. Who thinks like this?

1. I really want to do a squeeze play.
2. The scoreboard says the count is 2-2
3. I think the count is really 3-1.
4. Instead of asking around if the count is really 3-1 or 2-2, I order a squeeze play.

If Beltran retired today he isn't a HOFer, but I'd be by the end of his career he should be a HOFer. Unfortunately I think he's someone who voters will really underrate.

Yeah this. I feel the same about Bobby Abreu.
