Meh, he's better than Inge. Maybe he'll even be enough of a difference-maker to help the Tigers get a positive run differential!

anytime you can trade for a guy with a .372 BABIP you just have to do it. he's like the opposite of inge - he never gets unlucky, and inge always gets unlucky. positive trade IMO

Inge represents what the city of Detroit is all about tho, no metric can put a value on grit like that

Should have just kept Scott Sizemore and let him play 3B like he's doing with the A's

Well yes, obviously this is the correct play by a long shot.

Betemit sucks, but his Value Over Replacement Inge must be like 3 wins for the rest of season

this. Inge prolly has less talent than your avg single A 3rd basemen.

I've actually liked Wilson Betemit for awhile now. His defense is pretty ****ty, but he can play a few positions slightly below-average and is a league average batter. (at 3b this is pretty good) However, he is not a "switch" hitter. He is terribad vs. LHP and probably one of those guys who should just take the platoon disadvantage and bat lefty against them.

Still, guys like Betemit are pretty valuable if they're cheap.
