Its not really something that can be addressed more in the CBA which already says you can't manipulate service time. Whatever the line is a far as gaining benefits from manipulating service time, teams will act in bad faith and abuse the rules around those lines. That is why it is called
manipulation of service time.
The union should still fight every single case, and then when executives lie, they should be called out on their lies. Definitely publicly, and if there is a discovery process, then every single Braves' executive should be called into to testify that they never discussed manipulating service time, be forced to lie under oath about their decision-making process, emails and texts should be subpoenaed, etc. Let it be known that anytime you want to pull this kind of BS there is at least going to be a nuisance cost to pay, and potentially much more if you get caught slipping.
