I prefer Naps, which I assume they pronounced "Napes"

although I'm not sure why I assume that. It's not Nape-olean

honestly, the players should just seize the teams or start their own league while killing all scabs

and states and municipalities should unionize against giving stadiums and other benefits away

the parasitic, rent-seeking failson heirs can all go work at Walmart

of course, the workers of Walmart should also seize Walmart before it's too late

and the state should also be abolished

anyway what's up guys, who's ready for some béisbol

Been buying up as much Wahoo memorabilia as I can. Probably should change the team name altogether and go back to the Spiders.

the thing about collector's items is that it helps their value when there isn't an army of people betting on them becoming collector's items

It also helps if the stuff hasn't been mass-produced for 70 years.

Just depends on which army is bigger.

Did you think about how you'll only have a niche market of poor Ohioans to flip those on.

lol, I'm not buying Indians hats with the logos. I picked up some Chief Wahoo bobble heads from 1947. And a few from the 70's. Those pieces will absolutely rise in value. You think I'm buying Starter jackets and trying to resell them on the side of the road or something?

Now that I read it, that doesn't seem like that bad of an idea.

Is the value of a 1947 bobblehead really going to be affected in any way by a logo change in 2019? Sure, those are some nice collectibles, but I'm not seeing the connection to Wahoo's retirement. Most any team memorabilia from 70 years ago or 70 years from now is going to see some logo/mascot changes. This isn't really a unique situation, aside from the racism angle.

Like anything it adds to the popularity of the item, so there will be a window of a ton of buyers and not many sellers. Same thing happened when the Expos moved.

Opinion/theory: this offseason is slow not because of collusion or consipiracy, but because everybody is trying to (1) get/stay below the luxury tax threshold, and (2) wait until next offseason's mega free agency to spend big. The quality of top free agents this year is lower than normal, especially so when compared to next year's crop.

If that is so, my question is: are we going to see more 1-year deals or opt-outs after the first year in the contracts signed over the next few weeks as we get in to spring training?

Frazier forced the 2 year deal because the market will be more stacked next year and the same **** will happen. Once a couple big names go in the next couple of weeks everyone will go, for much less than they were expecting. Carlos Santana=WINNING!

Fangraphs' Top 100 Prospects for 2018 is out.

The top 100 is 10% Braves, better days are surely ahead.

Can't wait to see Acuna this year.

Phils outlook is greater than the ATL. Phil will drop some big money on Trout and more too next offseason.

Yes, the problem is some of these guys rejected the QO so the team has to give up the draft pick for a one-year deal. I know the last CBA tinkered with the value of the pick so its not quite as juicy as it used to be but still

For example .. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/...moustakas.html

Pretty sure trout isn't an FA til after 2020.

I'm not Gregory the pope or whatever ****. The point is, Phils will be on top by the time ATL thinks they will be competing.

I disagree.

Atlanta has lots and lots of good pitching prospects. I don't know who yet, but some of them will be great.

And young, cost-controlled pitching is the most desirable thing that can fetch anything else on the trade market.

You two are required to prop bet regular season wins, totaled 2018-2020 for those two clubs.
