Looks like those two are in next year at the latest.

Vlad, Chipper, Edgar, and Thome looking like locks.

Lineup would be

Harper

Bird
Stanton
Didi
Sanchez
Gardner
3B
Gleybar
Still lagging behind the Astros, and you have to factor in the DL time for Mike and Judge. Also, that little issue of having no starting pitching may be a bigger hole to fill than adding another outfielder in Harper.

Edgar isn't HOF worthy imo. His numbers look pretty, but compared to other players in that era they aren't that impressive.

Your first ballot HOFer. Larry Wayne Jones. Also, he's been accused of beating 2 of his wives.

Edgar getting in is way worse than Morris getting in

First three for sure. Edgar is still on the fence. He was -7.3% difference actual vs. pre-released votes last year.

I would say Hoffman vs. Edgar is a toss-up, I could see either getting in, or possibly even both.

Bonds and Clemens have no shot this year, but like to see them getting close.

This has what to do with baseball exactly? And please be specific.

Is there a chance Ohtani starts the season in the minors? Since he isn't an established veteran like others who have came over.

No. Im quite certain one of the things he wanted from the top team of 30 was assurances of playing time. Probably doesnt include a stint with the Salt Lake Buzz.

No way...Matsui, Tanaka, Nomo, Ichiro, etc...I don't think any of them played a day of AAA to start their career why should Ohtani be any different.

Matsui: 29 first MLB season
Tanaka: 25 first MLB season
Nomo: 26 first MLB season
Ichiro: 27 first MLB season

Yes they are all from the same part of the world, but their ages/experience are different than Ohtani.

Ohtani is 23, 2 years younger than Tanaka.

As Bighurt said teams were falling over themselves to try and sign him, I'm sure a caveat of signing would be starting in the majors, otherwise he could go to one of the other twenty interested teams

He's got a cool name, he played for one team, and he's a white guy that looks traditional.

Oh yeah but he also was a very good player come on now.

Age doesn't matter if the talent is real.

When they are as high profile, and that highly touted by MLB scouts they generally start right away. In part because the one thing they all have in common is that their skill set (to varying degrees) has been scouted to translate to > AAA level, and in some cases (i.e. Ohtani) well above that mark.

In other words teams aren't killing themselves to own the rights of these players to stick them in AAA to "develop". I mean why hold a press conference if you're not gonna play him. The only way he starts AAA is if the UCL injury is either worse than anyone is saying and has to start a rehab assignment in AAA or he somehow gets hurt in Spring Training and has to start a rehab assignment in AAA.

Man I was just watching a montage of random American sports events and that Dee Gordon home run popped up, I wonder if someday I'll be able to see that without weeping.

It doesn't, but there are people who would prefer not to honor Sandy Hook truthers.

It took Piazza 4 years to get in just because he's a gay. Larry Wayne shouldn't get in 1st ballot either.
