I may have overstated it there, but I'd rather have Hosmer as a Sox fan. He takes the ball oppo with power, and he is a better hitter. The ball is dead early and late in the season in Bos, unlike Ari when JD caught on fire.

JD has been an elite hitter for years now. It just wasn't catching fire in Arizona

Put another way he constructed a team as bad as it was expensive and even trading for literally the NL MVP wouldn’t have made them a certainty to be better than .500

RHP Brandon McCarthy
IF Charlie Culberson

Gonzalez has already been DFA'ed

I guess that clears LF for Ronald Acuna, but I'm kinda stunned about the rest of it

It's a money dump, Dodgers get under lux tax, Braves get guys on 1 year contracts. The AGon thing is obvious, he didn't even show up to watch the WS games in the dugout. He's already DFAd by Braves.

Dodgers getting out from under the tax without touching their war chest of prospects is insane and shouldn't have been possible, LOL anyone who thinks this is anything other than a gigantic win for them.

I can see why the Barves did it too but still, the Doyers being able to open up the wallet next offseason is immensely more valuable than the braves consolidating 40 million over 2 more years to this year.

Push, but both teams maximize value.

1. Dodgers get under cap this year saving them about 30mm in penalties, plus everything reset for next year.

2. Braves clear everything this year giving them more room to work next year.

Riley is obv the future there. I'm not totally sold on him but he already has some pop and if he continues to do what he did in AA then the future is bright.
