Yanks, Bosox and Twins out on Ohtani. Cashman speculated on west coast and small market and the media is running wild with it. Mariners and Giants amongst those who've made round 2.

Ohtani proving that the Cubbies, not the Yankees, are truly the biggest baseball team in the world. no reason for them to be in the running if he really wanted to be on the west coast. but its the Chicago Cubs.

I think the Mariners are probably the favorites.

Cubs may be quick to bench him.
Padres will probably never be competitive, though he'd get all the pt he wants.
Giants will probably be up there in his choices.
He'll pick up that the Rangers are a trashy organization.
Maybe Angels.
Prob not Doyers he said he wants to be the only Japan player on the team.

I WANT TO BELIEVE

Went to near 20 games last year to see an Ohtaniless Mariners. Gonna bump that to 30 easily if they pull this off. I have my credit card out and ready to buy his jersey immediately. But it will probably still sell out before I can even click buy.

If he really wants a small market, doesn't that rule Cubs and Dodgers out? And Angels?

Otani to Cubs or Dodgers would be boring. Mariners or Angels would be fun. Angels especially, since he's surely a better DH option than Pujols.

Im also buying his authentic Seattle jersey as soon as his uniform number is finalized.

This will seemingly be Seattle's last year with a chance to compete for a while it would be cool if he could help them make a wild card push.

Ohtani seems to have a good idea about what cities are a nice place to live in. I'm always shocke dby players who choose to sign in a lot of other places. Life in San Fran or San Diego or a few other mostly west coast cities just seems so much more appealing.

Rangers park is 20 miles away from anything "cool" in the DFW area. At least by millionaire celebrity standards. I think that is the worst location for MLB stadiums from players' perspective. Maybe that's why Ron Washington and Hamilton just did blow in ****ty bars near the stadium.

Anyone want to give me two teams against the Mariners in the Ohtani sweepstakes, even up, $50?

Not sure how much “living” players do in a city during the season. Klesko lived in the hotel connected to petco when he was with the padres.

Pitchers do a lot of "living" between starts. Matt Harvey and Fernandez cone to mind.
