Lee deal is for five years with an "easily reachable’’ vesting option for a sixth year. Not sure on $$, but it’s in excess of $100 million.

Cliff Lee called Jon Daniels personally to tell him he was signing w/Phils. Agent Darek Braunecker called Brian Cashman with the news.

Haha, Yanks can't even get a phone call.

Except the prospects they got for Lee were awful at the time and are even more awful after terrible seasons in 2010. Amaro is crazy.

This isnt him ******** on the Yankees or even TEX for that matter. he felt more comfy in PHI.

NY is a tough place to live when you cant live up to all the rich culture and history the uniform and city has to offer.

You said Cliff Lee was the best pitcher in the american league and Halladay is the best pitcher in the national league. . and phillies have them both.

w/ lee's injuries it's not a guarantee that the phillies get the guy we've seen for the last 3 years

but agree that kyle's analysis was less than great

philly is tough but don kid yourself. PHI does not compare to what NY and the media.

not saying lee would do poorly in NY,

With vesting option, Lee could have made $161 mil from Rangers. They were the high bidders.

Jetto is the sickest.

Amaro is an interesting fellow. On one hand he's built a hell of a team. On the flip side the Phillies remind me a lot of Enron circa 1999. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

sigh...he went to the ONE ****ing team in teh majors that signing him would give them a better rotation than the giants

and if the giants don't have their rotation wtf do they have

at least we got ours this year cuz the next 5 are looking bleak

things get easy when you become sidekick to the assassin known as Roy Halladay. Look at Oswalt/Hamels.

best rotation in the league AINEC I say. if everyone is healthy and on fire. even against SF.

ESPN is so ****ing baaad though. I love ESPn but they are dropping the ****ing ball by still covering ****ing NFL with teams that dont have a shot in the playoffs besides BAL. lets get on with more Lee details.
