I was just thinking that it's wild that one of the true GOATs won't make one of these.

Do we think he's had his last at bat for sure?

Doubt anyone has a 1/2 like Montreal with Unit and Pedro, definitely not in the last 30 years.

Can't think of anyone comparable Boston lost to pair with Babe, nor Pitt with Bonds.

Bonilla is still getting paid tho.

Fisk was great after leaving Boston. Clemens had good years. Bagwell. Freddy Lynn.

How dare we talk about Boggs without mentioning the pinnacle of his career.

Koufax and Campy easily over Donny and Pee Wee and Kersh.

Kersh/Duke close.

Koufax probably > Jackie.

Koufax
Jackie
Branch Rickey
Campy

Astros: Biggio, Bagwell, Nolan, Correa(assuming it will take a couple years to be built), otherwise Mike Scott.

White Sox one is curious. Thomas, Konerko, whichever is better between Pierce/Lyons, and then do you go an old like Appling, or perhaps Minoso? Baines? I think Harold played too much elsewhere. They had to unretire his jersey twice for him to play.

Sadly probably the four most famous Cubs as of rn, but I have no problem with

Mordecai Brown
2:3 ring to finger ratio. Bested Christy Mathewson 13-11 in heads-up matches; including a classic on 10/8/08 where he came on early in relief to seal the pennant (and 2nd straight ring) for the Cubs. 20 wins in 6 seasons during Cubs' early century dynasty. 2.06 career ERA.
Frank Chance
Chance player-manager during 4 pennants and two rings in 6-year stretch. GOAT nickname "peerless leader".
Ernie Banks
Mr. Cub. Two-time MVP. Let's play 2. Consummate gentleman. RIP.
Theo Epstein
Broke the 108-year curse with a team largely built from within. Paved the way for a second dynasty.

Braves are hard because how can you not have all 3 of Maddux Glavine and Smoltz, but then you have to choose between Hank and Chipper? No thanks.

Apologies to Spahn, Murph, Mathews, Kid Nichols...
