NationaLOLS

White Sox have a sick minors system as of the last 48 hours or so. They also have more pieces to sell with some value as well.

Congrats Bighurt, your going to end up having the best farm in MLB by the end of this.

Eaton is really good and has an amazing contract. Deal seems fine to me.

they gave up a **** ton

the deal is awful.

eaton is solid. obv overrated by war due to loluzr.

either way giving up a top top prospect and two more really strong ones for a guy with limited potential seems really bad

i dont even like giolito and think he has bust potential. but he has tremendous perceived value. this deal would make sense for sale, not for eaton

Meh, I'm a Jays fan; I really don't care that much about prospects because they just break your heart. Maybe I like Eaton more than most, but he seems like a pretty sure thing in relation to pitching prospects. I too don't think Giolito is overly special, fwiw.

Yikes, apparently I way overvalued Giolito. Trade rape aside Eaton is going to fit into that lineup really well. and my god the sox are gonna be loaded if they keep going.

Based on that haul for Eaton, I have determined it is impossible to come up with a trade package for Mike Trout

His defense is negative in CF, which is where the Nats are moving him back to. He's projected to OPS 750 with 11 HR. Not exactly worth what they gave up in my opinion.

The dbacks are one year off of trading Ender Inciarte (5.3 war in 2015, 3.8 in 2016, just entering arbitration), Dansby Swanson (0.9 war in 124 ABs in his first year last year, 22, doesn't hit arb til 2020), and Aaron Blair (2013 first round draft pick, 24, doesn't hit arb til 2020) for Shelby Miller (-0.7 WAR in 100 innings last year, arb eligible, FA in 2020).

It's loldbacks until they prove to not be idiots for an extended period of time.

I'd like to also LOL the nats, who often get a pass for a terrible front office for being so bad in years that Stras and Bro were slam dunk #1 picks. They've shown themselves to be clowns at multiple points in recent history. Shutting down Stras. Hiring Dusty. Whatever the hell this Eaton trade is.

Lolria also bad

Horrible deal for the nats. Eaton is a minus defender in CF (won't be close to 6 WAR) and Turner is a minus defender at SS

When do you get presented with the ring for the best farm system

Deal is probably not too bad for Washington. Assuming Eaton is below average in CF he's still a likely 3+ win player and cheap through 2021? And also, Nats are probably going to have to blow it up in a few years anyway...and Eaton will still have a lot of value at that time

Yea lol. That would require some young major league assets in addition to what Bos gave up for Sale basically. At least.

even with every lol it's clearly lolangels and it's not remotely close. they have the best player in baseball in his prime who will make a run at being the best player of all time and their team is so bad and farm is so barren that their options are to trade him and get closer to a 3rd place finish in a couple years or keep him til he walks and you get nothing without a single playoff appearance between now and that point

Mike Trout - the Barry Sanders of baseball. And that's an understatement since Trout is going to be top 3 GOAT.

Oh, how sexy.

Pretty excited about the future all of a sudden. There have just been so few guys debut with the White Sox who have been impact players this century.

Also excited to see what other moves are coming. I would like them to hold on to Abreu though.
