There are eligibility dates for the next 5 years embedded somewhere in there, I think. They're on the the HOF site for sure.

edit: My bad, there aren't, but that's who is on the horizon.

Edit number 2, I was right and will make the eligibility dates more clear.

Read a fun article predicting the next HoF inductee for each team (with Mo, Doc, and Edgar not being eligible under the assumption they are getting in this year).

Dan Shaughnessy from the Boston Globe only voted in Rivera. He should have his voting privileges revoked. To be honest, Baines getting in kind of ruined the HOF process for me.

I was going to post my own picks, but I’m playing a tourney and figured I should pay attention instead. Some of the picks are dumb. Longoria is one of them. I got through the ALE with my picks and I chose Snell.

I don’t know how to link it from my phone.

Spoiler:

Here is a link to captured ballots, over 50% have been gathered already: https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?...Ceqm-knNxexBw8

Rivera will get in and is flirting with 100% as no public ballot has left him off.

Halladay will get in easily.

Edgar will get in pretty soundly on his last year of eligibility.

The big question mark is Mussina, who is going to be +/- 1-2% to 75%. Him getting in will be big for Walker to get in next year on his last year on the ballot.

The reason an extra person getting in is important to Walker (and all other candidates) is because of the 227 ballots currently tracked, 128 have used up all 10 spots. A lot of those have other people they want to vote for.

The reason an extra person getting in is important to Walker (and all other candidates) is because of the 227 ballots currently tracked, 128 have used up all 10 spots. A lot of those have other people they want to vote for.
Spoiler:
This was my main reason for wondering about next year's new ballot members. Walker and later on, to a lesser extent, Rolen, will see their chances of being inducted go up with every extra person elected each year.

Jeter obv makes it next year, but I think that's really all I see as a sure shot, and it will give guys like Walker/Rolen/Sheffield/Sosa/Vizquel/ anyone who people would have voted for if they had 11 or 12 or 13 spots instead of the 10.

After Jeter, the next best 1st timer is Giambi or Abreu, and those guys can definitely wait a year or two to make room for the above, if there's ever going to be room for them.

Regardless, I see Walker becoming the 10th vote sweetheart the way Raines did last year and Edgar did this year.

Nick Markakis put up a 2.6 WAR and .806 OPS last year over 623 ABs and had to settle for a $4million contract.

Work stoppage definitely coming in 2021.

edit: slow pony.

Does anyone actually think Jason Giambi has a shot at the Hall?

Of course not, but Brad Pitt played him in a movie or something like that.

Actually, looking at his stats he was really ****ing good for 20 years, with a career .916 OPS, but not a HOFer. If he's in Lance Berkman is in, fat Elvis isn't a HOFer either.
