Clemens for 3rd place at 177 strikeouts. Still ****ing crazy that the Braves made the playoffs 14 ears in a row.

Saw this on fangraphs:

Yankees bullpen projected fWAR; 7.2
Orioles entire team projected fWAR; 15.4

Chapman, Betances, Britton, Green, and Ottavino. Even Aaron Boone can't **** this up now.

If only you could manage based on WAR. Boone is too dumb to know what it looks like when your pitcher doesn’t have it.

Last year I kept hammering on Boone for going to scrubs like Cole, Shreve etc... when down by 1-3 runs in late innings, and watching the opposition kill off games by tacking on more runs. Those are still winnable games if you hold the line. Now Boone has more weapons at his disposal and less room to make mistakes.

I did some quick math, and the Yankees starting pitchers (Severino, Tanaka, Happ, Sabathia, Paxton) averaged 5.7 innings per start last year. Multiplied by 162 games that comes out to 924 total innings, out of roughly 1458 total innings (if you lose on the road you only pitch 8 innings, but there are some extra inning games to balance it out). That leaves 534 innings for the bullpen. Roughly 400 of those innings can be taken up by Chapman, Betances, Green, Ottavino, Britton, and Holder. That doesn't leave many innings left for true mop-up situations. Boone should never again use another sub-par pitcher in any remotely close game.

I think by the time betances throws 56 pitches for the 3rd straight outing that lasts .2 you’ll realize how wrong you are

The Mets are such a disgrace of a franchise. It's pretty clear that they are going to give Tebow an opportunity to embarrass himself in the major leagues at some point, especially if he luckboxes his BABIP over his first 200 ABs in AAA enough to give the Mets a superficial story about how Tebow is their best bat at AAA.

His supposed breakout at AA was a joke. He had a 62% contact percentage over 271 ABs with just 6 HRs. For that sort of contact percentage to be playable at the major league level, he would need to have power like Joey Gallo. And there is no reason to believe that his contact percentage in the majors would exceed the mid-fifties in the major leagues, which would unplayable no matter how much power he had.

Oh, and he also is a poor outfielder who can only play LF.

I still think Mets may be the favorite in NL East. Even they won't **** that up by giving Tom Tebow a long stretch on the the 25 or 40 man roster.

Looks like the Reds are getting Sonny Gray, and are apparently trying to work out an extension for him before the deal becomes official. Can't even imagine what an extension would look like for him at this point.

I'm glad the Reds are at least trying now. They tried the tanking thing for a decade and it didn't pan out. I've never been to Cincinatti, but I don't imagine there is much happening there. A good ball club would be fun there.

Kris Bryant will bounce back, but that's it for the Cubs, they don't have the pitching.

Cards will get to a few games over .500, but not playoffs

Brew should win the central

I'm rooting for the Reds to compete, but realistically there's no chance.

Because Tebow is a major league player, because the Mets will never promote him, or because it is OK to use major league roster spots on publicity stunts?

3rd option. Some teams keep a third catcher. Some teams play a DH. Others have a Tebow.

Think of it like keeping a Rule 5 pick except one that sells tickets and who can be demoted any time you need that 12th pitcher.

Though I’m hoping he sticks the whole year because lol Mets.

Wow. Not the option I was expecting. In that case, why not give the final roster spot to Jerry Seinfeld or Jimmy Kimmel? I'm sure either would be up for it. Both are big Mets fans.
