One name stands out for me. Here are some of his accomplishments and statistics:

Played 17 years in the majors, qualifying for the batting title in 10 of those years.

Made just 1 all-star team.

Lifetime batting average of just .249, with a single-season high of .268 in a qualifying year.

Never led the league in any offensive category except strike outs, once.

Hit 30+ HR once, and had 100+ RBI once. Never scored 100+ runs in any season.

Never finished in the top 10 in MVP voting in any year, and only received down-ballot votes in two seasons.

Doesn't sound like a very remarkable player, right? He has 47 WAR according to BR. Fangraphs likes him even more, at 51 WAR. That's not a Hall of Famer, but squarely a very good player that every contending team would have loved to have.

This player is:

Spoiler:
Mike Cameron. A less flashy and less good version of Andruw Jones, who was a plus defender in CF for a decade, and was an excellent base-runner and hit for power. Once hit 4 HR in a game in 2002, and came very close to a 5th.
My guess was Edgar Renteria.

I remember watching the Cameron 4 HR game. He and Bret Boone went back to back twice in the 1st, and he also stole a grand slam from Maggs Ordonez.

Nice career for sure.

Best thing about Cameron was that he rustled the Cardinals' jimmies as the one who started the Brewers' "untuck" celebration.

Doesn't everything rustle the Cardinals' jimmies?

Tulu seems quite excited about sitting on the bench in NY as opposed to riding the pines in Toronto.. He is going to shatter into a million pieces when he comes in contact with grass or dirt no matter where he is..

Are the Brewers really going to win less than 84 games? Fangraphs hate them too.

Under Astros, Blue Jays, Dbacks, Royals.

Over A's Braves Brewers. Probably Over on Phillies too, as they're going to sign Machado or Harper, and I suspect they're going to go get Greinke or Bumgarner or someone after.

Astros pitching will be down, but I think Korea and Bregman will both be in the top 5 MVP votes. Getting Realmuto is still on the table too.

Easy to see why the Brewers don't project well. They went 96-67 last year, with a pythagorean W-L of 91-72, and several players having career years.

Yelich and Cain combined for 14.5 WAR, that's very likely not happening again. Aguilar is likely due for some regression. Hader is awesome, but Jeffress is not as good as his 1.29 ERA last year. Starting pitching doesn't inspire the most confidence either.

They ran hotter than the sun last year, and their best asset (bullpen) is the most volatile year to year. Still no SP.

Cards are also significantly better after adding Goldy and Miller. Reds could also be something less than a doormat.

It's a tough division and they are behind Cubs and Cards as it currently stands.

So many high quality free agents left that there isn’t really much to get confidently

Phils over 83 seems like unbelievably free money tho. That division is awful

Cliff Lee is a great answer to that question. So god damn good. He and Madbum are the two best I've ever seen at hitting the glove without having the catcher move it whatsoever.
