One reason Sandoval’s was so bad is the Red Sox waves a weight clause that the Giants insisted on. The Giants had to tell hotel management not to allow him room service after night games. The dude was a pig .

A very expensive minor leaguer. He is a non-roster invite to Dbacks spring training since nobody obviously picked him up.

-2.4 WAR, all three seasons he played in majors had a negative WAR.

The D-Backs, under the old Tony La Russa/Dave Stewart regime, signed Tomas to a six-year deal worth $68.5 million back in 2014.
But don't worry, Tony La Russa calls you an idiot if you don't think Harold Baines is a hall of famer.

Hector Olivera. Signed by Dodgers 6 years 62.5 mil at 30 years old. Traded to Braves for Alex Wood. Beats up his girlfriend and never plays again.

-0.3 fwar in 30 games.

I mentioned the Vernon Wells contract as bad. It may not be in the top 5, but it has to be near the top of the list as a bad contract that a team was actually able to offload.

And, if the Jays had kept Napoli (instead of flipping him) it would have been brilliant...

If the Padres can figure out a way to shed the Myers contract, Harper makes a lot of sense. They'd have to offer 10/300 again, which should end the dick measuring contest between Lozano and Boras.

Would not put it passed him to require 10/$300,000,000.01

it was amazing that the bluejays were able to dump that god awful contract to the angels. i didn't think they could get anyone to even pay half.
then for some stupid reason the yankees picked up 8 mil of wells for each of 2 years in the same offseason they refused to give russel martin 2 years 16 mil total. of course they released him after one year, which actually saved wells on taxes bc he lives in florida.

and of course it led to this article with the greatest title ever

I'm sure that's what he's after. Can't imagine the Padres doing it and pissing Manny off three days after signing him.

Just saw some interesting numbers in a Bonds and Bro comparison. Through 772 career games, Bro has Barry crushed in every slash line, and about 30 more homers too. What if Bro goes God mode?

Making contact would be step 1.

lol Rockies paying Machado/Harper money for someone who would be a slightly above average player elsewhere.

.984 OPS at Home
.787 OPS on Road

Here are some other OPS numbers I pulled to help un-blind the Coors eye that people see.

Reminder Arenado Career Splits
.984 OPS at Home
.787 OPS on Road

Harper Home: .912
Harper Road: .872
David Peralta (slightly above avg player) Career OPS: .828
Yelich career road OPS: .855

Coors OPS
Harper - 1.116 OPS
Goldschmidt - 1.023
Chase Utley - .960
Matt Kemp - 1.005
Larry Walker - 1.172
Todd Helton - 1.048

So paying record breaking money for someone not better than any of those people above?

To quote Toby Flenderson: is that... is that enough? Should I keep going?

Tulo is becoming annoying.. In an interview a few days ago he made it sound that he felt he was the new "straw to stir the drink" for the Yankess -- that he would help bring the Yankees over the top. That is a bold take for a Gregorius sub..

Yesterday he was all hyped about a homerun against the Jays in spring training, a team that he says determined he couldn't play anymore.

Fact is the Jays asked Tulo months ago if he would consider other positions (1B, DH) and rather than say "anything to help the team," he said no. SS or nothing, basically.

So, the Jays said bye-bye.. IMO, he has little reason be ticked off at the Jays . He underachieved on offence when he was healthy, and he was seldom healthy..

Good riddance... The Yankees got a broken glass, not a new straw..

If only we had stats that take run-scoring environment into account. If only.

Arenado is a top-10 position player in MLB, LOL if you think otherwise.
