Byron Buxton hit two solo homers Sunday against the Mariners.

The homers came in his first two at-bats off Marco Gonzales. Buxton also had a 95-mph groundout and a 92-mph flyout today. His average exit velocity after three games is right around 100 mph, which is ridiculous.

Twins get the Dodgers for a little 2-game series starting Tuesday

what makes the bat interesting is that the guy who does it claims that it's the only truly independent out out there

all the others use other models as weights, ie steamer may have been closer to 29 and zips closer to 24 but ended up edging towards the median projection of other projections and shaved off or added a home run to be more compliant with the wisdom of the crowd

don't know if that makes it more or less accurate, my guess is less accurate (my own models rely heavily on the wisdom of others) but it's an interesting thing about his system

I think you can rest assured that 36+ HR would be at least a 1 or 2+ sigma outcome, so you're printing at evens

I mean, Judge would be under contract for his early through mid 30s (I think), which is quite a difference. I get the hesitancy due to his durability but you gotta spend the money somewhere and the only FA outfielder after the season worth a damn who isn't already on the Yankees is Michael Brantley. Unless you want to root for Steinbrenner to save on the luxury tax.

Why do the Red Sox play Sunday night baseball then have to go play a day game in Detroit the next day? I could see if it was their Opening Day but it's not. Does Detroit do late afternoon starts all April bc it's cold af there or something?
