Your REIGNING WORLD CHAMPION Atlanta Braves will begin a spirited title defense tonight, without its homegrown star and face of the franchise, Freddie Freeman, now in Dodger Blue.
Speaking of those Dodgers, they look pretty tough this year. But as SRM reminds us, not good enough to win their division last year.
What happens in the AL Central this year? Are the kids ahead of schedule for the Twins, Tigaaaaaaaz, or Royals?
The AL East looks as competitive as ever. Lots of pundits picking Toronto, led by the precocious Vladito, who finished 3rd in MVP voting last year.
Is this the year the Mariners break their playoff drought? (probably not)
Is this the year the Angels finally break through with the two "best players in the game?"
So much drama, so many questions! Can't wait to see how it all plays out.
Definitely a better move than the Rox signing Bryant. Biggest contract in Pirates history.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are building around third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes.
The Pirates and Hayes, 25, have come to terms on a new eight-year, $70 million

first-round pick in the 2015 amateur draft, reached the big leagues in 2020.
Hayes entered the 2022 season hitting .280 in 120 career games. Known for his strong defensive play, Hayes made a splash upon his arrival in September 2020, winning Rookie of the Month during an electric debut but struggled with a left wrist injury that limited him to 96 games in 2021.
Opening Day photo dump. In the 9 years I've had season tickets they've never felt like more of a poverty franchise. 50-60% full for Opening Day? That said, I'll be back Saturday and Sunday.

Judge is as dumb as he looks. Dude is 29 and not a true baseball player, just a freak athlete. That won't play out well in a longer term contract.

Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees did not come to an agreement on a contract extension ahead of the slugger's self-imposed deadline of Opening Day.
General manager Brian Cashman said the team offered a seven-year, $213.5 million extension, which, paired with the $17 million it offered in arbitration this season, would have made the entire package just over $230 million.
