MLB 2021-2022 Offseason thicc with FAs - Page 5 - Sporting Events and Fantasy Sports

Somehow a player who wasn't good until his age 28 season in the heart of the steroid era and hit 541 HRs is being given a free pass, but players who hit 762, 696, 609, 583, 569, and 555 HRs aren't?

I am on an island, but the reason he is getting in is because he is 'clutch' and because he cussed after the city that owned his rights was bombed.

Voters are stupid.

I didn't think Rivera deserved the first ever 100% vote, but I was/am far less upset about that than David Ortiz getting to be a 'first ballot hall of famer' while Bonds, Clemens, and ARod can't get in. Voters sure like to randomly take sides.

I mean Clemens is a paedophile and Bonds beat up a bunch of women. I know that's not the reason they're left out but hard to feel bad for those two

I'm not offended. I just don't think that cussing after the city that owns your rights is bombed is a hall of fame worthy skill. I seriously feel that his speech after the bombing is 10-20% responsible for him making the hall of fame.

I guess one-and-done off the ballot with less than 5% matters less than first year in. Lincecum doesn't deserve to be in, but sucks that he only grabbed 2.3% his first year on.
He still made $100mil+ and those back-to-back CYAs and WS rangz make for a more impressive trophy case than a lot of guys with a plaque in Cooperstown.
