I'm all over TB -1.5 runs at -129. According to my calculations the line should be about -175

White Sox just brought in Crochet their first round pick from the draft this year. Wow! This guy fires effortless 100+ smoke striking out his first 2 batters and getting the third with a weak grounder. This guy looks totally legit. I just hope he doesn't follow the Sox blueprint of missing the next couple of years with TJ surgery.

Fantasy Baseball question, season long points league.

I am up against my starts cap, have 3 left for the season in a weekly lock league. I have one more pitcher starting this week, so I will have 2 left.

I have Luis Castillo pitching on the 22nd and all 3 of Ryu, Corbin Burnes, and Lance Lynn appear to be penciled in to start on the 24th.

If you hit your cap on a certain day, ESPN counts all games above and beyond that, but not on following days. So with this plan I would get 2 extra starts over the cap.

How shady is it to purposely alter my lineup to get 2 extra starts again the cap?

Is it less shady if I was purposely starting bad pitchers the first 40-50% of the season with no idea there was a starts cap and accidentally stumbled across it?

He'll follow the footsteps of Chris Sale, who remarkably didn't need TJ until this year.

No expert, but initial reaction is if the system allows you to do it, it's not shady at all.

Didn't even know there was such a thing as a start cap.

The people who win fantasy leagues are those who spend the time figuring stuff like that out, which is bad for my lazy ass. If it isn't against the rules go for it.

Yeah not shady at all and part of good strategy. Never played with start caps but always innings caps. And if I can get multiple "good" starters on the day I expect to cap out all the better.

Mays and Pujols in virtual dead heat in the following stats: homers, hits, atbats, games played, Xtra base hits, average, onbase%, slugging % ... Pujols 200 ahead in RBI's but Mays ahead 200 in runs scored.

I'm afraid this much shortened season may well cost Phat Albert the all-time RBI record. He needed one more 90-100 type season to be odds-on. Maybe next year. But most of a year lost at age 40 is hard to replace. Yet this year he is still on virtual 100 RBI pace considering games cancelled and games sat ... he's the most relentless RBI man in history ... nobody did that for 20 years but maybe Aaron. Even now, age 40, and the last 5 years hitting .240 and sitting all kinds of games, the 100 RBI pace was relentless. Anyway, it's been a fun 20 year sweat for damn sure ... and watching somebody chase such an all-time mark is always special.

One ejection every 29 games. Almost Bobby Cox-type numbers there. Definitely one of the last old-old school managers left. Hope he enjoys retirement.

I was thinking of Albert's quest a couple days ago. He's had some huge advantages in the chase-Trout hitting in front of him in LA, some extremely good lineups in STL (sans 2007, 2010). Dude just mashed forever
