It's weird, it is that technicality. But every RBI list I ever saw had Aaron and Ruth both at 2200++ and no one else at 2000 (till A-Rod). Nobody else was ever over 2000 on the lists. Then a few years ago I think it was Cap Anson moved up over 2000. Then Ruth moved below 2000.
I like the old chart. It was pure because Ruth had 22 years and 2200 RBIs, and Aaron had 23 years and 2300 RBIs (3 short actually) ... pretty sick production by both. A lot of guys made runs at 2000, nobody got there until A-Rod. Now Pujols almost there, 20 years, 2000 RBIs, could do 21/2100 thru next year (but I doubt it, not sure he can earn his ABs any more).
