I remember reading somewhere that a hall voter was arguing to remove the limits on votes so if someone wanted to support 3 guys or 20 guys it didn't matter

The reason being that a lot of game theory comes into this. These guys always have their guys who they support and will often toss a vote to one of them and leave off someone who they actually believe is more worthy because they think that enough of the other writers will take care of him

I imagine with guys like lofton there were a bunch of guys all thinking they could leave him off and give him support next year instead... Oops

most writers don't vote for 10 guys so i don't think this is a big issue
