The most popular incorrect answer was played by 4 people, Josh Donaldson. He missed some time earlier in the season, and finishes just short, with 33 dingers.

Our next most popular incorrects are a trio of would-be 3-pointers, including my answer. Manny Machado was correct for this question both last year and the year before, but took a step back in 2017. He also finishes just short, with 33 taters.

Also played by 3 people, man, what ever happened to Miguel Cabrera this year? After posting an OPS of .943 or better for 10 of the past 12 years, Miggy sunk to .728 in 2017. He finishes with 16 homers.

Our final would-be 3-pointer is Todd Frazier. He finishes with a respectable, yet incorrect, 27 homers.

2 people chose my boy Freddie Freeman, who would have comfortably qualified and received MVP consideration if it weren't for getting beaned in the hand and breaking his wrist. He finishes with 28 dongs.

Two contestants also chose Mark Trumbo, who looks more and more like Adam Dunn every day. Trumbo finished with 23 round-trippers.

Our final would-be 2-pointer is another fine player who just missed. Anthony Rizzo quietly had another fantastic year, and finishes with 33 homers.

Pretty sure that is wrong
I didn't have Chris Davis

I have my message saved and can forward it to you if my name doesn't appear elsewhere under the correct answer.

Now we're down to the ace-hunters, which I'll reveal in alphabetical order. Adam Duvall had 31 dingers for the Reds this year.

You are correct, that is my mistake.

Chris Davis, the would-be 4 point incorrect, showed up right next to UNREVEALED CORRECT ANSWER, who is alphabetically close to Chris Davis, and also worth 4 points

and I put the wrong list of pickers.

I edited it though

Our next would-be ace is Evan Longoria. He's tailing off after a prodigious start to his career, and hit 20 homers this season.

J.D., and the rest of the top THREE in homers on the season, all went unguessed

Our next incorrect is your NL leader in WAR, Kris Bryant. He trimmed his K rate in boosted his walk rate, and I'm here to tell you he's a top half of the first round pick in roto, not a 6-10 pick. Anyway, he finished with 29 round-trippers.
