Apologies for going MIA for like a week and change.

Got busy, and every time I sat down at the computer I figured I'd just check in on my usual threads but do some reveals when I have the time

Then 13 days go by and everyone's still waiting to find out how it ends!

Sorry bout that.

So two reveals today, and I'll announce and stick to a time for the FINAL REVEAL!

Our two most popular incorrects were played by 3 people. Injuries suck, and we never got to see Noah Syndergaard at his maximum Thor-ness this year. He finished with 34 K's.

Our other would-be 3-pointer is Jon Gray. He landed somewhere in the 30's in Dave Cameron's Trade Value column that came out over the All Star break, and while I don't deny he has talent, I can think of other young cheap power pitchers that I think have more upside. Plus the Coors thing. Anyway, he finished with 112 K's in 110 innings.

Now we're down to the would-be ace hunters. Danny Duffy is a fine young pitcher for the Royals, and he finished with 130 K's in 146.1 IP.

Our final incorrect is soon to be a very wealthy man. Jake Arrieta is set to hit free agency, and while last year was better than this year, this year was nothing to sneeze at. He finished with 163 K's in 168.1 IP.

This question's SHEEP answer was played by an overwhelming ELEVEN of us, including yours truly. The ERA is so-so, and the Wins may be tough to come by in Tampa Bay, but MAN does Chris Archer have a filthy slider. He threw that slider 44% of the time in 2017, and it was worth a pitch value of 16.9 this year. I have no idea what that number means, but for context, the fastball was -3.6 and the change was -3.1. So I guess that means he has a good slider, because NUMBERS. Anyway, he finishes with 249 punchouts on the season, making him correct for this question 4 years in a row.

Our next most popular corrects are a pair of 5 point answers. Chris Sale ran away with the strikeout crown in 2017, and even cracked the lofty 300 mark, as he finished with 308 K's.

Also played by 5 people, our next correct is Sale's stiffest competition for his first AL Cy Young, Corey Kluber. If you asked me in June who the AL Cy is, I would have said Sale, but now I think I gotta go with Kluber. He finished 3rd in K's with 265.

Our next two corrects were played by 3 people. The prohibitive NL Cy Young favorite (only because UNREVEALED missed so much time) is Max Scherzer. He finished 2nd in the strikeout race with 268.

Our other 3-point correct could be considered something of a facemelter. When I was doing my fantasy research before the year, I didn't know much about Robbie Ray, only that he gets boatloads of strikeouts. He put in a breakout year, and finished with 218 K's, not too shabby.

Our next corrects are a trio of 2-point answers. I bought in on Justin Verlander in my keeper league the year after his last bad one, when it looked like he was declining, but after the trade to the Astros he looks as good now as he did in his Cy Young year. He finished with 219 K's.

Also played by 2 people, we have another guy who was traded into playoff contention. Yu Darvish finished with 209 K's across both leagues this season.

Our final 2-point correct is boring ol' Clayton Kershaw. He made it interesting for this question with the back issue that popped up, as he only finished 175 innings this year. But that was just enough to get him to 202 K's.

Question 23 closes with two aces. The franchise cornerstone for the Cardinals looks to be the fine young right-hander they locked up long term before this season, Carlos Martinez. He didn't disappoint this year, finishing with 217 K's.

Our final ace is the always underrated Jose Quintana. Long viewed as a steady, good-but-not-great fantasy talent, he snuck over the 200 K threshold for the first time in his career this season, finishing with 207.

Thanks to Chris Archer being a massive SHEEP, we have a new leader atop the podium!

bware continues rocketing up the chart as he zooms past me, as I sullenly predicted earlier.
