Which is precisely why a reliever won it. Didn't surrender too many ribbies.

Sal walks on 4 pitches to load the bases with 1 out vs. a brand new pitcher, his second walk of the year. Christian Colon decides he's Bryce Harper and goes up hacking first pitch.

(DP of course)

Don't forget Jameson Taillon, Barret Loux, and the immortal Deck McGuire were also taken before him. Baseball drafts are really something to look at as time passes. I might find myself looking at the last twenty years worth of first rounds tonight.

I really like how MLB Network has the thing in the upper corner showing the positioning of all the fielders.

I wish I had Extra Innings instead of MLB.TV. you just can't switch from game to game in between pitches on your phone.

Someday managers will start using their closer in the 8th to face the 3-4-5 hitters.

But you can't do that now because apparently relief pitchers are so fragile they would just FREAK OUT if they come in in a different inning than they're used to.

How do they handle doing it 2 hours into a quick game or 4 hours into a really slow game?

Doesn't matter - apparently they only key off of inning number. Their inning is their safe space.

Eckersley and La Russa are probably the reason we went away from that

Colon could do this 20 more times and still be a hero. He already has the royals 2 best ph at bats in the last 30 years.
