Well he's still owed $16 million in 2011 and a club option for 2012 of $16m ($2m buyout) but if they agree to eat his salary for the rest of this season his value would shoot up.

Actually if they eat this years salary, the Dodgers will probably trade the farm for him. Oh the joy of having Ned as your GM (Not as bad as Ed Wade but still)

Yeah, Hinske looks like quite the offseason signing so far.

Thremp is basically right, though I disagree with the "purely out of selfishness" part. I'd say it's done out of pain/grief and hopelessness. I think it's fine to call him a spineless bitch though.
