I don't deny any of these claims. Jordan is 55 years old, so Lebron/KD/Harden would probably eke out a win in 1 on 1.

The fact of the matter is, Jordan played in a soft era. The caliber of talent not nearly as high as it is today

Yeah it’s true .
It was so soft during Jordan era you could get injured taking a personnel foul back then ...

Yeah guys like prime Shaq, prime Tim Duncan, Karl Malone, Barkley, Olajuwan, David Robinson, Grant Hill, Shawn Kemp, etc. etc. etc. couldn't possibly compete with a 37 year old Jason Kidd who beat LeBron in his prime.

Wait prime Jason Kidd played with Jordan and was like 1/10th as good as him. So I guess that argument doesn't make any sense.

I have a good friend that was a huge Reggie Miller fan back in the day. He also thought things like Reggie Miller was better than Jordan. Much like people think that KD or Harden are better than prime Jordan. Granted he was 4 years old at the time and he's gotten more mature and intelligent as he's gotten older, but still.

Oh and not to change the subject, but one of the arguments that shows Jordan was clearly better then LeBron was that LeBron accumulated all of his stats and his 9 straight finals appearances (with 6 losses) in a notably terrible Eastern Conference.

Now that LeBron has switched to the superior Western Conference, his (advanced/efficiency) stats are notably lower. For example, currently at 7.4 BPM compared to 9.6 last year. And the Lakers are currently sitting 10th in the West at 27-27. This seems to support the argument that a big component of LeBron's numbers are due to the fact he could previously stat hog in a weak conference, yet his team would still perform reasonably well because of the weak opponents.

Now that he's playing the better teams, his stats have dropped and his style of play doesn't really lead to many wins as he has a .500 record. This seems to support the narrative that not only did Jordan accumulate his stats in a stronger conference -- his stats were, even still, superior to LeBron and those stats translated to wins because he was playing for wins not numbers. This is probably why Jordan has 6 rings in fewer seasons while LeBron sits 3-6 in the finals (coming out of a historically weak Eastern Conference).

Is it possible LeBron actually barely cracks the top 5 of all time list, and he's only been buoyed by the weak competition he's played his whole career? Remember this is the only season he's played in the good conference, and he's currently sitting 5th in the league in BPM (WELL behind the #4 guy), 7th in PER, not even in the top 20 in win shares, 16th in VORP. The list goes on.

It does kind of make you think, doesn't it?

Lebron with 2 other superstars in their prime couldnt beat 2 ancient white unathletic dinosaurs who were both drafted in MJ's era.

I agree with these comments as well. Jordan's era was ancient and archaic compared to Lebron's time. In fact, Jordan's last year was way back in 2003(!!!). By the time Lebron entered the league in 2003, the NBA was basically a different sport.

Can anybody imagine Mike doing what LeBron did in the closing seconds tonight? Down one in the final seconds, he basically ran away from the action.

It’s called believing in your teammates and motivating them to play well in the clutch.

Praise to be.

All things are possible through LeBron.

Nah. It's called disappearing. "I don't even want an offensive rebound here and maybe have to go to the line." Dude might be the worst player in the league in the last 10 seconds of one score games. Amazing. That said, his team might have turned the corner tonight by covering for him.

Just want to remind everyone that Lebron posted this on instagram after Harrison Barnes was traded mid-game. He is obviously PR hedging for his eventual ditching of LA.

Quote:
kingjames

So let me guess this is cool cause they had to do what was best for the franchise right??? Traded this man while he was literally playing in the game and had ZERO idea. I’m not knocking who traded him because it’s a business and you have to do what you feel what’s best but I just want this narrative to start to get REAL/CHANGE and not when a player wants to be traded or leaves a Franchise that he’s a selfish/ungrateful player but when they trade you, release , waive, cut etc etc it’s best for them! I’m ok with both honestly, truly am. Just call a ♠️ a ♠️!!
He then proceeded to draft every pending free-agent (except Dirk) for his all-star team. The tampering continues for the king.
