Half-right. Only 10 players all time scored higher than an 18 in "prime number" Larry Bird is #8 at 18.35 and that's only because back injuries hurt him for years and through them he still put up some of his best PER and win share numbers (+/- was hurt by lack of D due to back injuries). I'm confident that Larry would of easily scored a 20+ if he was as healthy in his best years as MJ and LeBron have been.

I think I go with Steph Curry at the #1 now and feel better about it. The only trouble is that he isn't great defensively. But now I'm thinking that is how I go.

Duncan and Shaq are post players (you could say Duncan can play pick and roll/pop) clogging the lane on offense, hence why I went with Bird and Russell instead, given the other guys I picked. But were I to pick a whole team I would have Duncan and Shaq on it.

keep the ball in Paul's hands

you can also swap out Bron for Durant and Curry for CP3 (both moves are jointly necessary) and it's possibly superior after thinking about it, you'd prbly also want to swap KG for Dirk on that team too. I think that team woudn't have as clear of roles as the initial one and there'd be less symmetry though.

Nah I think Steph/Kawhi/Durant/LeBron/KG (swap LeBron for Dirk too) would destroy pretty much any team. Functional pieces are similar to the Warriors lineup of death's but even better. It's small and big at the same time.
